This is why people hate hunters..

Maybe it's just me but I figure if I can post on CGN from my duck blind, I'm not anywhere near far enough away from people.

A map of your wildlife refuge?

So I'm on the Trent river in my blind, aiming for geese.. first pair of hunters post up across from me and I swear they're shooting ducks when duck season isn't open yet, aka poaching.. next pair of hunters, are in a damn pontoon boat, trolling with the motor down, calling geese all the way up the river being dicks. Is it just me or does this upset anyone else here?

Today is waterfowl heritage day. If it happened today, there may have been youth shooting at ducks, which is allowed.

My beef with the hunters is they shut off my pumpjacks and steal whatever oils and antifreeze jugs I have to keep the engines running. A few years back there was a deer camp set up a click or so up from one of my locations and the hunters kept shutting off the engine on my pumpjack. I finally left them a note saying that they were foolish to do so as the wildlife is used to the noise and if they continue to do it I was going to report them. The result? The next day they left a steaming pile in front of the door to the shack and they packed up their deer camp and moved on. Its a good thing they left cause I was going to obliterate their stupid camp after what they did!

I don't mind being around other hunters or having a little competition but what these #######s were doing isn't fair for the wildlife nevermind the other hunters. There's lotsof hunters out here, it's the weekend lol there's nothing I can do about that. Just wish they had a little more respect for both nature and the hunters reputation.

tis funny isn't it, I have been sometimes known to say stuff like " im not a big fan of hunters either" , especially when the landowners mention there opinion on the deer shooters around here!

yep, not your style so maybe you need to find another patch to call in geese in a more scenic an peaceful valley!?

I tend to stay away from the crowds...even If 'the biggest bucks' are up there

What's a wildlife refuge? The red spots? I don't live near any of those so I have no idea what they are.

You're right. My comment was poorly thought out and unclear. I guess my point was that at any duck blind within the red on that map, you could post on CGN. That covers some pretty good duck hunting areas. Cell service covers some pretty remote areas now. If you have more remote areas to hunt that's awesome. I'm jealous, but having internet doesn't mean you are on the outskirts of a city.

Maybe you can get some ducks and some pokemons on the same hunt. :d

I've had a distain for hunters since the invent of the 3, then 4 wheelers. 'Cause now any man can go where no lazy man had been before.:p

ouch, so I guess me with my club foot and severe arthritis is just being a lazy ass. thanks a lot.

I used to walk for hours hunting even 5-6 years ago. now an hour in is as far as I can get without complication, even standing watch for 1-2 hrs for the evening hunt has become a challenge. but yah its all just laziness on my part because I use a 4 wheeler to access and scout public lands.

any hunter can be an inconsiderate jerk, and they don't subscribe to any particular stripe. the worst asses I have had to deal with the self important bush walkers who's #### don't stink. but the asses always distinguish themselves. I have had jerks in big diesel trucks come drive right up to my watch in an old cut and rev their engine for 20min. they same guy camped in the middle of a snow mobile trail and built a bonfire and spread his junk out so no one could access the trail. I don't think he hunted, never even wore orange.

Don't be too sensitive you know what he is saying. There are lots of hunters who never get more than 10m from their ATVs and think they are Daniel Boon.

OMG I best not work anything but a goose call while goose hunting or duck call while duck hunting etc. lest I be accused of poaching? I guess that means no more dying rabbit squeals while coyote hunting too? Don't want to be accused of torturing a bunny or something?

Well. No. There isn't any need. When I hear duck calls and guns popping off what would you think? Lol yeah they were just practicing.... That's what I'm trying to tell myself as I sit hear watching them waiting to actually see them do it. It doesn't sound like they need to practice their duck calls.. goose calls on the other hand, they could use some lessons.

Now I'm confused...are you upset regarding poachers or other hunters in your personal space?

Poaching. There was no kids. 2 men about my age or older (I'm 26). Maybe they don't realize that heritage day is for kids I don't know. They still got duck calls on em but they've shot at geese so far so I'm cool with that, it's just fishy when they're shooting at what seems like nothing, because Im close enough to hear them talk nevermind witnessing their kills

Hell I don't even need a duck call Ive had 2 old squaws fly into my geese decoys earlier and a mallard swam by too, there's like 10 ducks in a big marsh right beside me about 75 yards away, and a bunch flying around my head. I'm basically hanging out with these ducks lol they're non stop. I could've had a limit already today lol and all I have is goose gear.
