9.3x62

Rebarreling a m70, m77, m700 from a 30-06 type chambering to a 9.3x62 with a nice #3 barrel makes a lot of sense. Compared to working over an old husqvarna or buying a zastava (not a big fan).

lots of love for this cartridge it seems. how 'cheap' are the zastavas and where to find? love my cz rifles though, never had a rifle or pistol from them that wasn't 'best' for accuracy.

Certainly cannot go wrong by going that way, opens up a lot of choices for a donor rifle.

figure a cz will be a good rifle. is there anything wrong with zastava? i would think cz would be more accurate.

Finish is better on a CZ compared to Zastava. Both have Mauser actions. I own a number of Zastavas and 1 CZ550. ~$1200 for a basic CZ550 vs. ~$800 for a Zastava LKM70. Both are capable of very good accuracy. Recommend handling both then decide.

Tradex also has Sauer 100's in 9.3 for $1099.

Here's my CZ 9.3X62 FS carbine.

Very handy outfit with low-powered scope.

Easily gets 286 gr bullets beyond 2500fps, 250s well past 2600, and shoots plenty flat enough for big game out to 300 yd. Ask me how I know. :)

Apparently this model is no longer being imported into Canada. Anyone know if this is true or not?

Ted

I was lucky enough to snag a Sauer 100 in 9.3 x 62 from Traddex. With the fine folks at Prophet mounting a one piece weaver on it to accommodate a fine Austrian Kahles optic, let me tell you, I am very pleased with groups at 200m to 250m freehand.
Using the 9.3X62-286-gr-SP-RP - Hornady.

Thumbs up! A great buy. One fall bear down on opening day at 220m.

Nice Ted,:) very nice. I have a soft spot for FS models in European calibres.
