@OP: Out of the box, my MH was doing the exact same thing. Same light strikes, same binding just before it would go into battery, same sticking coming out of the mag.
At around 100 rounds I dropped ATRS an email...Shaun gave me exactly the same advice....and was right.
A couple of hundred heavily-lubricated rounds later and things are definitely smoothing up as the bolt, carrier and extension are breaking in.
Stay with the recommended light lubricants. I tried a grease (Wilson Ultima Lube) and it did not work well. G96, MPro-7 and Castrol 5w20 Synthetic have all worked well for me.
Whatever you use, just make sure there is a lot of it, and expect to be cleaning and stripping down the bolt and carrier every 20-40 rounds to begin with.
Please don't use any motor oils. We recommend G96
