I was very pleasantly surprised at how good my .22 Webley is
I'd go with an older smith. I have a officers model match and colt official police. Beautiful revolvers but delicate timing.

If you can find one, an Astra NC-6 is a great value .22 revolver. The NC-6 has a "regulation ring" that the hammer spring strut sits in with multiple depth holes in it, so you can adjust the trigger weight easily. 8 shot cylinder, great fit and finish and amazing deep bluing. The grips are quite small, but you can work with them. Here's mine:

Nice NC-6, awesome revolver for around $300 and very accurate too! Looks like your B-8 target wasn't fitted to size since the 8 horizontal ring is pretty close to the edge of your 8.5"X11" print, it's a tad oversize.
If you can hunt down a Monson made Dan Wesson 722 that's what I would get. That particular first year of production '83 model 722 shoots better than all the older S&W 17's I've owned, even though the model 17 is very hard to beat in the first place.

Beautiful! Never seen one for sale
