.22LR revolvers?

What are H&R sportsman 999 in good shape worth these days?

I googled gun broker they were $300-400

$300-400 sounds about right.

I paid $200 for my first one. That one had a ventilated rib, no firing pin block, was an older version, but had some pitting issues.
The second one cost me $400, but is minty clean, has a fake ventilated rib, a firing pin block, it is a newer version for sure.
Kind of miss the older one, I like the ventilated rib. Grips were a little different as well. Unfortunately the pitting became cancerous.
That's something to keep a vigilant eye on with these pistols. The steel is different than the modern stuff.

I'd say that's not far off. The Standard Catalog lists good at $295, VG at 350 and Excellent at 425. In terms of prices here it's a tough call as the market is so thin. I'd guess maybe 4-500 for a really good one

I'd go with an older smith. I have a officers model match and colt official police. Beautiful revolvers but delicate timing.

I quite like my Hillary holed 617, almost more that my 17, 10 shots v.s. 6 helps sway that opinion though.
Had a Colt Officers Model Match.... wasn't up to my Smiths IMHO. The Colt felt L or even N frame to me... Just my take.

If you can hunt down a Monson made Dan Wesson 722 that's what I would get. That particular first year of production '83 model 722 shoots better than all the older S&W 17's I've owned, even though the model 17 is very hard to beat in the first place.

If you can find one, an Astra NC-6 is a great value .22 revolver. The NC-6 has a "regulation ring" that the hammer spring strut sits in with multiple depth holes in it, so you can adjust the trigger weight easily. 8 shot cylinder, great fit and finish and amazing deep bluing. The grips are quite small, but you can work with them. Here's mine:

Purdy. What did that run yah?

Thanks, I like it as well. $350 just over a year ago. An excellent deal IMO. I probably will never sell it as it will be great to teach my son the basics of handgun shooting when he is a bit older. They have come up on the EE once or twice since I've bought mine around that price as well, but they have gone quick. Nice "value" .22 revolvers seem to be scarce.

Nice NC-6, awesome revolver for around $300 and very accurate too! Looks like your B-8 target wasn't fitted to size since the 8 horizontal ring is pretty close to the edge of your 8.5"X11" print, it's a tad oversize.

Thanks I wasn't aware that it was. Just printed them off as my printer was set up, looking at your post I see the difference. Either way she is shooting on par with much more expensive guns, and I'm quite happy with it. I will have to print targets and take her out again, been shooting .357 at steel rather than .22 at paper lately.
