There you go - No purchase necessary under defined conditions.
So what information did you provide with your order? Don't answer - internet and all. The same as I did, any anyone else that placed an order. Somehow that got me a ticket. I didn't fill out a ballot. I'm looking at my ticket right now. For all I know, I have your ticket, mine only has a number. Maybe you have mine. It might be a hint that they have your name and address.
And some people are paying for a ticket, by placing an order. You don't expect to have to do a little legwork for a write in ticket? Others are paying for the privilege to not have to do that. The no purchase necessary must be offered, if it is legit and legal. The conditions are laid out, so you shouldn't be surprised if you get SFA if your request isn't post dated until Oct. 29. Meet the conditions - simple - and written quite clearly.
Now, I'll admit two things. I was going to try to up my odds with some write in requests, and I read the conditions then. I know I'm not motivated enough to do that, so I'll roll with my one entry, and be happy. Secondly, I'm lazy. Not going to go read the conditions again. Did you stop to think that the SASE may just also conveniently include the info needed to enter you in the draw? And that they may be able to use that to send your ticket stub back to you, since you didn't outlay cash for that ticket, like others did? You paid shipping for the Sure Shot, did you not? So you expect they will send you the free ticket on their dime? The free ticket isn't good enough for you?
Now maybe, yes, the write in conditions may outline that you will be pen pals for awhile until you get your ticket. See above, I didn't go re-read, because I'm not going to mail in. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong on the purpose of the SASE. Seems the conditions on the write ins ensure that people who paid in, or wrote in early, don't have to wait for stragglers as draw date is Nov. 2, in lieu of sellout. Seems fair. Or maybe they do want to pay someone to be pen pals with you and however many others, to send them free tickets. That would be a non cost-effective business model.
