Any Ithaca 37 Love in Here?

One of my favourite shotguns the Deer Slayer made a great cop shotgun as the LAPD

Here's a video of my 37 it came factory coloured in green. Hulk approved.

Ah ha !! Now that's exactly the type pf Ithaca I envision. Green, hi-viz sight, and extended mag tube.

Didn't know about this one. Are their many of them floating around ?

Thanks Don'tkillbill.

Argh ... I hate you guys ..

Now I really want an Ithaca 37 or 87.

I didn't want one before this thread. You guys aren't very nice.

Just picked one up awhile ago....just found out it's a 1937....first year of production!! Came with the cutts compensator on it. Shoots very well, came with the 2 barrel set, Model 37S (numbers matching). I've had a couple 37's before , but nothing like this one. It was a nice find :)

Damn..... that's quite the score quinnbrian !!!

Ahhh...Model 37's. I have really nice 37R that will stay the way it is. I also snagged a nice old beater that I might bob the barrel on it. I just took my Norinco YL12-1J4 out for a few shots this after noon. It is a "copy" of a 37, sans the slam fire.

Wait ..... Norinco make a copy of the Ithaca ? What are the differences ? I'd rather own the real deal but did not know of this option. Will have to read a little on it.

What does the "R" pertaining to the 37 ? I've red a bunch of random stuff on the Ithaca's. Maybe I should join their forum and get all the details.

"R" means ribbed. The Norinco is..well, a Norinco. One difference is that it won't slamfire like the old 37"s. This one has a 19" barrel, windage adjustable rear sight. It is a heavy little fellow, and noisy - short barrel. I bought it as a fun gun, but wouldn't want to have to carry it around all day.

The Norc is/was marketed here under the Stevens name...or was it Savage?

I saw one at a recent show, but the price was more than I felt it was worth, and I prefer a bead to sights

My wish would be for someone like Canada Ammo to get a batch done up as trench guns. That'd kick

The Norc and Stevens are very similar, though the Stevens is a better looking gun overall. My understanding is that they cone from the same factory floor, but the differences are noticable.

The norcs also lack some part interchangability...for forend being a big aesthetic one due to the action bar setup.
