If it is just the pin. You can put a drill bit in a dremel and sandpaper it down to the correct diameter, poor man's lathe.

The worst is springs/detents under pression that go flying into orbit.

Happened half a dozen times to me with various guns, always found the spring/detents shortly after tho. Yeah I'm lucky, having great hearing helps lol.

Stupid question maybe, but why would you take your pistol apart over the sink?

it was taken apart over the counter I went to put it in the sink to spray it down with solvent.
Apparently that smaller pin isn't quite as tight-fitting as the other, she dropped right out.

I believe there's a bit of a tophat on the pins (definitely on the one I didn't lose), but if not i'll be sure to come up with other options should this happen again

They may work for a bit, but depending how much load is on the pin it could break since drill bits are brittle. I'd order from brownells
