I just picked one up. can I put a 3.5" chambered barrel on this gun? I hear it's the same as the hunting model but I see the bolt for the tac is different than the standard, and cheaper to buy. Did they make a special 3" gun for the Tac version?

Is it legal to mark the barrel to say 3.5"?
I don't think that would hold up too well in court.
I think it would need to be labelled as 3.5" from the factory for you to have a leg to stand on.

The existing barrel is suitable for 2 3/4 to 3 1/2. The stated mag capacity is listed for 2 3/4 and 3 shells. All versmax barreles are listed as 3 1/2 except maybe for the " field deer barrel"
Do you have any information to the contrary?

How many rounds does it fit pinned to 5 3 inchers? I was looking at the tactical model because I don't want to spend a lot of cash making a gun suitable if I can get one off the shelf. Like buying a scope feel the pain once. Any other semi options under 1500?

Did you take out that washer on the magtube extension and repin? they put it in there so that they could import it pass CBSA, but it's not plugged properly.
5 x 3 inchers would fit 6 x 2.75
Stoeger m3k, comes with the proper lifter and enlarged feed port. sub 800 bucks
You can fit 5.9 3 inchers for a total of 17.7 inches, or 6.4 2.75 inch shells. If your shotgun can shoot 5.9 of the 3.5 inchers, you get 7.5 2.75 inchers
