How heavy is your competition AR

Weight matters when it's slung on your back and you gotta run 100y with it... Plus loaded mags, plus a 3lb pistol, while shooting your shotgun.

Slows you down, or at least it slows me down

Look at Bernard, his rifle weights a ton and he still won the 3gun match this past weekend. lol.

It seems that some matches, it's both. At Rocky Mountain it was 100-150y runs on most stages.

Well... think back a couple of weeks to BRM3G.
Every stage... covered a fair chunk of real estate. Add in the tasks/obstacles and you have one hell of a physical match....
I mean really...

Exactly when lighter gear makes a difference.

Although it wasn't too bad...I noticed at this years match how heavy my belt and guns were. Might have to go back to a glock

Was this 3Gun or Magic Mike competition?

No... More like fat old guy on a rope 3gun.
I actually earned a 20 second penalty on that stage for failing to go far enough along that rope.
I dismounted before I had crossed the defined fault line.
'Not because of my weight over coming my ability to hang on, but rather my mis-guessing how far I had traveled.

Just got done lightening up my AR....went from around 9.25 lbs to 7.8. ONly weighs 6.4 lbs without an optic.

Hopefully will lighten the load next year whilst hanging upside down.
