help me find a 45

HK USP 45 Tactical, Elite, Expert. Not for the faint of heart for any of them size wise but these are all unreal blaster's
HK 45C, HK 45, refined ergos most people will appreciate. Superb guns.
Glock 21/41. Old faithful just in 45 auto.
CZ 97, I like this gun a lot, it's underrated and is a great shooter.

Colt should really make all their roll-marks match those on the Competition....much classier. Nice looking gun Madcow.

Built and weight like a tank, Ruger American Pistol in 45ACP for $769 new.

I have both a Colt Gov 1911 stainless model and the Springfield Armory 1911 stainless both in 45.

Both bought new. Colt was $1500 and the Springfield was $1100. Differences between both makes is very small, however, the Springfield looks more refined with some polished pieces of the gun, whereas the Colt is all brushed.

The slide on the Colt looks a little tighter than the Springfield, however, it hasn't affected the performance of either make.

I bought the Colt first and the Springfield later.

If I had to make a choice, I'd have bought the Springfield as my first 45 cal purchase and passed on the Colt for some thing else entirely.

HK45C is a very nice .45 if you want a plastic gun. I like the flat sided grips more than the full-size's "Spiderman" grips. Factory trigger is nothing to write home about, but the gun sure is accurate.

Magazines aren't an inexpensive proposition, but some of the pain is eased by buying off IRG.

Other recommendations include CZ-97, and Glock 41.

I also have the exact same gun pictured above, along with a full-size HK45. I personally prefer the full-size. And so far as .45 recommendations... I started out on the 1911 platform, owned many different 1911s over the years, and have since switched to HK. No regrets. The FNP45 is also a nice gun, just didn't fit my hand as well as the HK45.

I will add my opinion here for what its worth. When I got my restricted PAL, I knew I wanted a 1911 in .45 ACP. I had shot a few before and just loved them.

Once I got my RPAL, I went shopping. I handled Remingtons, Rugers, Sigs, S&W 1911's. At a gun show I was able to handle the Kimber Custom II Two tone like you mentioned and it just felt so much nicer in the hand than any other one I had handled. I ended up buying it for $1100 tax in. It shoots great, way better than I can shoot it. I shoot 230gr FMJ's out of it and rarely have a failure to feed. If I do, Its always in the factory magazine. I run Wilson Combat 47D mags and everything feeds perfectly fine out of them.

I know that I can spend a lot more money and buy a better 1911 but for $1100 I think I bought the best 1911 I could find. At least in my opinion.
