Let's see some pic's of your SxS's & O/U's

It will be a fine looking Linder once you complete the needed TLC and will be a pleasure to carry on the hunt.

Thanks Brian. It's not a light gun, that's for sure. Heaviest 12 gauge SxS I own at 7 lb 8 oz. But I couldn't believe that when I saw the numbers because it has the feel and balance of a 6 lb 10 oz gun. Why, once I have had the barrels checked out, it may even get used on waterfowl!

Fantastic addition to your collection James. What are some of the other specs on it? Barrel length, chambers, LOP, etc

LOP is 14 1/4" with a DAC of 1 3/8" and DAH of 2 1/4"
Barrels are 30" choked full and full with 2 3/4" chambers.

Not making any claim about originality of chamber length at the moment. Need to confirm production date range and also have the barrels looked at/measured by a professional with the correct tools. But they are heavier than my Fox 12 gauge 30" barrels which are Krupp and built like a tank so I imagine that from a barrel strength perspective, I'll be able to throw just about anything down the pipes. These are Witten Excelsior steel. Not bad stuff.

It's looking like it will be a VERY shootable gun.

A very shootable gun with those specs. A fantastic gun already and I know you will take it to another level. Looking forward to seeing it.

I'm trying to be objective and not influence things unduly, but although I have not shot it yet, it comes to my shoulder better than any other gun in my collection. I'm hoping it will introduce it's true nature to me the same way my Lovena sidelock did....by taking a bird the very first time I pull the trigger on a live shell! ;)

BTW, thanks for the compliments guys.

Hi, My Winchester21 is coming along nicely, the wood is just about done, the French gray is well on is way, the barrels still have to be rust blued but I hope to get it back from Chris in a few weeks. The last pictures is my Parker 16g receiver, the gun is already done I'll get it back with the 21, can't wait to see them in person. ;) Once I get past my knee jerk horror at the beavertail, that is going to be a great looking gun. Love the VERY tasteful and restrained engraving. And that wood!!!

Thanks James, That is a very nice beavertail, you just don't like them :) By the way I would really appreciate your help to figure out that French sxs. John
Thanks Patrick, How is the Armas EGO Sidelock working out for you. John

John, you are in luck. I opened a plastic storage bin (one of many) sealed since the move last march. No hunting or shooting stuff in it. No books from my library in it. Just a mishmash of junk I should have thrown away rather than move. But as I dug through it, lo and behold, my proof book appears!!

I'll get on it.

You are right, I don't like them. But I will admit I have seen a couple custom ones done by CJO from doubleguns that could make me change my mind. In particular, a custom stocked 32" Fox B grade. It's spectacular and it has a beavertail. Chris' work is looking pretty damn good.

Old CZ Brno 301 I cleaned up...

John thanks for re-posting the proofs. Been working on building a fence this weekend. Surprisingly, my hunting dog doesn't just sit beside the house when I let her out.

Will get at the proofs tonight.

That is beautiful work Chris did on the stock. He's just getting going on a re-stock for me....a Remington 1894 BE project gun I have had for a while. Broken hammer and a bad stock. This one I will probably have Oskar do the CCH as well. It has nice Damascus barrels so getting those re-done in the proper black and white will be the final piece of that puzzle. Look here to see the pics.....in about 18 months! LOL
