Wool Hunting Pants - Finally found some and Canadian Made

Hey Shark help me out.
I wish to buy the cargo pant, and will wear long johns.
I take a 36 size jean
What waist size do you recommend???

thanks

I take the same jean size as you (36) and ordered the cargo merino as well as the regular merino in size 36. They fit comfortably with my long johns underneath, no need for a size up.

You can buy these at Ellwood Epps and Arts Clothing in Orillia if you are from the area. I paid less than $100 a pair at Arts. I have a pair of the 75% recycled wool (Model 210). They are great but I would have bought the six pocket version if I had known about it. I was going to get the 00% wool golf pant style but they didn't have them in stock. I like the look of those Merino Wool six pock pants. I will have to check if Epps or Arts can get then.
If I'm not from the area can I still buy them? LOL!

I don't know if they ship pants. I was in there and they are $79.99. My experience is that prices only get updated there on reordering. I think I paid about the same at Arts Clothing in Orillia. Epps also has the reversible greenwool/orange vests for $69.99. Stock is a bit limited so I would call ahead if you plan to come north.

They only seemed to have the 75% recycled wool pants and the reversible vests in stock.

Even though I have a pair of these Canadian made wool pants, the best wool hunting pants I ever had and wore in the cold were the German Army surplus ones from the 1980's. They had double thickness lining in the knees and some form of water proof membrane between those layers. The close knit thick wool felt more like mattered felt, but was still soft, flexible and waterproof.

It was a waxed paper sewn between the layers.

Finally received mine (day after I tag out of course) and the quality is excellent. I wear 34 x 34 and upsized to the 36 waist. They fit exactly the way I wanted with lots of room for under layers. They would slide without a belt but there is nothing worse than tight clothes cutting off circulation when it's minus teens or colder. I sit much more often than still hunt however and we do hunt in fidget temperature in Alberta. If I didn't need the under layers like when I hunted in NS, I would have preferred my regular size.

Anyways, thanks again to the OP and don't hesitate to order as this is well made stuff. It is really nice to see some product from Canada.

I usually wear suspenders with mine. They should have the buttons in the waist for them.

x100.

They were felted and you could tear them on cut bush but they were what I wore doing 10-15 km a day of winter geophysics on snowshoes in northern Ontario.

I held mine up with a pair of Husky suspenders as magnetic surveys don't like steel belt buckles and you stay warmer without the constriction of a waist belt.

Thanks for the order Blacklab :)

We recently started carrying the suspenders that go with the pants. The pants do in fact include the buttons for the suspenders.

I had those too, but they kept shrinking in the waist even though I never washed them. At first I moved the top buttons, then could wear them by not doing up the top buttons, now I have to open all the buttons and have retired them.
