Trying to figure out the rough worth of a portuguese K98. Fired only three times, numbers matching, with numbers matching bayonet (never used).

Trying to get pictures ASAP.

Marked Mauser-Werke AG Oberndorf AN

Stamped 1941

All Nazi Eagles still there

They were a bunch (couple of thousand) imported in 1982 that came unissued by Century and Lever Arms. They included a matching bayonet and I think a
Muzzle cover. Beautiful rifles and sold then for $495 each. Not sure what price they would fetch today.

I knew this rifle would show up here haha.

I've personally seen them sell for up to $3000. But also as low as like $1200.

That one looks nice but not as mint as some.

Oh wow! My mistake. There is one for auction soon F17318 so close my brain missed it.

My other data holds true tho. A wide range of pricing. I had a mint one all matched, bayo sling. Sold it for $2350
I've seen them sell higher but also they have been found like this for like $1200 too.

Beautiful rifle.
They were fairly easy to find in the eighties. LA Cowboy is right on, many were imported back then, came with rifle, matching bayonet and even a target from factory testing. Three grades came in, can't remember what they sold for. You see them still in varying conditions, but some nice ones still show up. I've owned quite a few. There is a great research database on one of the forums that includes known serial number ranges actually diverted from delivery to Portugal to the Wehrmacht to make up for the catastrophic losses of the eastern front (I believe most are in the H block, can't remember for certain). Love that deep contract Mauser blueing.
I think I glanced at your post before you edited, I would not believe any stories of hand picking these immediately after the war. More likely hand picked off a shelf at Lever. Regardless, beautiful rifle, thanks for showing.

Yeah after a little looking it was picked up from Lever Arms so I edited it.
