If you are talking Wingmaster I think just in 12 and 20 gauge.anyone know if Remington produced a special field shotgun in 28 gauge ?
Don t believe remington has produced a 28 guage for a very long time
I never heard of or saw any in 28 ga!
The OP should specify if he means the 870 Wingmaster Special Field that was made throughout the 80's into early 90's or the 1100 semi-auto. But he hasn't been on since posting so not likely he will clarify.
would like to acquire an 1100 special field in 28 gauge; apparently Remington produced about 150 in the 1990's.
It will indeed be a nice gun. Are you looking for collection purposes, upland hunting or skeet?
not that I recall. 12 & 20 only.They did produce a model 1100 Special Field in 28 gauge.

Dear Sir,
Thank you for contacting Remington. Your Model 1100 was produced in 1992. It was produced as a Model 1100 Special Field Autoloading 28 Gauge Shotgun with a satin finish and it came with a 21" barrel with an improved cylinder bore 2 3/4" ejection. The 28 ga. was introduced in 1969 with the 410 ga. and they were sold as matched pairs only, in 1970 they became standard models and were sold individually.
