Remington special field shotgun

If people actually researched the question them selfs all of these forms would not exist and people would have to find a new form of entertainment

The OP should specify if he means the 870 Wingmaster Special Field that was made throughout the 80's into early 90's or the 1100 semi-auto. But he hasn't been on since posting so not likely he will clarify.

would like to acquire an 1100 special field in 28 gauge; apparently Remington produced about 150 in the 1990's.

Special Field 1100 was made in 28 gauge but is quite rare. The Special Field 870 was only made in 12 and 20 gauge.

not that I recall. 12 & 20 only.

According to Remington they made them.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for contacting Remington. Your Model 1100 was produced in 1992. It was produced as a Model 1100 Special Field Autoloading 28 Gauge Shotgun with a satin finish and it came with a 21" barrel with an improved cylinder bore 2 3/4" ejection. The 28 ga. was introduced in 1969 with the 410 ga. and they were sold as matched pairs only, in 1970 they became standard models and were sold individually.
