If you are talking Wingmaster I think just in 12 and 20 gauge.

Currently available in 28 gauge: 1100 Sporting & 870 Wingmaster.

Both the 1100 and 870 are currently produced in 28ga, I have members at the club with each.

The OP should specify if he means the 870 Wingmaster Special Field that was made throughout the 80's into early 90's or the 1100 semi-auto. But he hasn't been on since posting so not likely he will clarify.

It will indeed be a nice gun. Are you looking for collection purposes, upland hunting or skeet?

Special Field 1100 was made in 28 gauge but is quite rare. The Special Field 870 was only made in 12 and 20 gauge.

I would use it mainly for the many varieties of grouse here in the Alberta foothills.

I used to have a Special Field 1100 in 28g a few years ago, not sure if they still make them but they sure used too.

Thank you for contacting Remington. Your Model 1100 was produced in 1992. It was produced as a Model 1100 Special Field Autoloading 28 Gauge Shotgun with a satin finish and it came with a 21" barrel with an improved cylinder bore 2 3/4" ejection. The 28 ga. was introduced in 1969 with the 410 ga. and they were sold as matched pairs only, in 1970 they became standard models and were sold individually.
