Looking for a break action side-by-side 12GA with short barrels (around 12.5" or so long) and preferably with a single trigger. Does such a thing exist?

"Does such a thing exist?"

No, quality gun makers avoid this sort of thing in their lines, as they are utterly useless for wing or clay shooting. The shortest, quality SXS I can think of would be a Churchill XXV, they were made for drive grouse shooting.

Exists yes, available not really.
Wanstalls did a limited run of 12" 12 gauge from Yildiz of Turkey.
Not what most would consider high quality but well above the other options in a short barrel length.

Corwin Arms had a Turkish model of their own called the Torun a while back too, but not sure if I he's had any in stock since then.

I will vouche for the Stoeger Coach gun.
Short, light, built very solid and locks up real nice and tight. Puts the buck shot and slugs exactly where they need to go every time!
Also has fixed chokes. I believe the barrels on mine are 20"
No it's not high endbut for what you pay for and for what you're looking for it's very good value for the money.
Most high end douchey shotguns with fancy etchings and endangered tree wood tend to have 30" pipes on them.

DD .. just had coffee fly out my nose ( now that was funny stuff ) I can just imagine the look on the fellows face at H&H getting that phone call

Holland and holland will make anything you want. Give them a call.
No they won't. H&H and other British makers have been known to turn down requests for guns they felt didn't reflect appropriately on their brand. I've also seen Spanish makers not grant a request from a buyer for similar reasons. The Turks however will make you anything.

Fausti I believe it was cross threaded thousands of chokes so they chopped the barrels off at various lengths. They're selling for $1-2000. I heard some were as short as 18". Most were 24"-26". I handled one Sunday. Single trigger. Ejector. Beautiful engraving. Decent wood. Buddy paid $1200

It was mostly a joke... That said I'd bet for the right price a fellow could have it done.
You do take scatter guns seriously, don't ya? ;)
