LSS-22 Chassis for Rimfire Bolt Action Rifles

Ice, you crack me up buddy! I have a real nice 1712 in the new LSS that looks good.......still can't believe you sold it lol.

Lovely wood stock on that. Looks very purposeful now in the LSS-22

Goodness that's a ###y looking 1712! I had ordered one a few months ago and it had the most insane wood I've ever seen on a 1712. Turns out the gun had a serious flaw or two. Missing bluing near the receiver and a funky looking square hole that shouldn't have been there. I've had 1710's before and knew it was a boo boo. Sent it back. Now I wanna order another 1712 and 1710 and I'm scared its gonna mean selling the unfired 1727 to get both a those!

Another one !
I tried my old 1395, which is an old 64 action dated 1965 with less diameter than actual 64 match.

With the V support, 1mm difference in diameter wasn't a problem for a good fit.

The carbine is an old timer and the trigger group too. Not wide but much more more length.

I had some milling to do, a simple job.

Now It works well.

Why this transformation ? I like my 1395 and I'm confident that she can shoot really well. The main drawback is the trigger, a good grip is mandatory to work with.
This morning I did a try with the 1395 fitted on a thumbhole stock (before LSS transformation).

Not too bad, 100m 110y, 30shots, -3°C 27°F, no gloves I was frozen.

I hope to improve with the LSS. With a collapsible stock and a folding adapter it will make a nice rifle.

pascalp - that's some nice work on the milling. Wish I could have the same results! Lol. A picture of mine as it sits. Will be getting a Magpul MOE-K grip for it but it works great as is! :)

Anshutz 1727F in a LSS-22 Anshutz 54 action chassis

So I only realized recently the mdt chassis does not come with a butt stock or pistol grip. Where is the best place to order a nice butt stock and pistol grip from ?

Depends how special or basic you want the setup to be.

Simple basic items could be ordered from MDT: pistol grip, buffer tube, castle nut and then order a carbine stock of your choice elsewhere, or one of the MDT fixed stocks with an adapter.

For cheap LSS carbine alternatives, I would check CanadaAmmo for IMI basic items or TrueNorthArms for some clone stuff.

You can spend a lot if you start getting very specific in your desires.

1395 (1416 singleshot ancestor) and LSS-22, tested and approved.

The scope is a Leupold Mark AR 1.5-4x20. 4x is small, but I haven't enough elevation on the 6.5-20x40.

LSS-22 ease hold and trigger control (even this old heavy one). Aiming wasn't so difficult as hold was steady even with only weak hand as rear support.
100m 110y, 30 shots.

10 ring is 50mm, about 2". I'm quite happy, with a little more magnification and a more precise aiming I hope a benefit of 1/2" in group size. Not bad for a 50 years old low-end product.

I had pleasant time behind the stock, thanks.

With a 6-18x40 instead of 1.5-4x20.

"aim small, miss small", but I failed once.
30 shots, 100m 110y.

All the credit to the LSS-22 system which help incredibly.
