Problem with my 1911

I own a SAM Thunderbolt 1911 chambered in .45ACP and it's the railed model with the forward slide serrations. Out of the box, it functioned fine. None of the problems i'm having right now happened before I installed new parts.

So, the problem i'm having right now is I believe the leaf spring is protruding into the magwell just enough to press up against the back of the seated magazine and keep it from dropping freely. When I depress the mag release, the mag pops out about an inch and then I have to manually extract the magazine. I noticed that if I squeeze the trigger a little bit, the mag will fall free. By squeezing the trigger, the trigger bow pushes the middle spring into the grip just enough to break contact with the magazine.

Could it just be that the new trigger I installed is a little out of spec and allows the middle spring of the leaf spring to protrude further forward than usual or have I installed the spring incorrectly? I have done a function test and everything works. I've tested the trigger while the safety is engaged/disengaged, and i've depressed the trigger during cycling of the slide to ensure the hammer doesn't drop and it has passed all those tests. I just think the trigger bow I installed may be a tiny bit shorter than the stock trigger bow, but I thought i'd ask you guys/gals. I'm taking a tactical pause from the trouble shooting as my patience level has faded, lol.

You need to adjust your trigger bow so that it does not make contact with the mag. If your trigger bow has the adjustment arms at the front, you need to slightly spread them open so that the back part of the bow does not enter into the magwell. Make small increments until the bow no longer obstructs the mag. Sight down the magwell and verify that even the sides of the bow are clear of the magwell.

In addition to the trigger bow your mags could be out-of-spec as could the frame.

Strip the gun down to the bare frame and check that the mags can drop free.

Then reinstall the mag release and check that the release isn't binding the mags when you release the release. The mag release can also grab your magazines.

Then add the trigger back in and check for binding against the bow.

This was my problem. Thank you very much. It's been so long since I installed the trigger that I forgot the trigger even had the adjustment arms. Much appreciated friend.
