I have a mission for you...... should you choose to accept it.....

Would love a pic of it laying over dead critter.......
I accept, but getting a moose tag here is next to impossible. I've had three since 1988.

Might have to trip to NFLD one of these years.

Advertised at 9.3oz There is also the FXII 6x36 which is advertised at 10.0 oz going for weight but depending on what I think of the 4x I may o up to the 6x. Will be my first fixed power so im not sure exactly what I wanted.

I just bought a Leupold VX11 Ultra light 3-9 x33 CDS scope - just weighted it in at 9.48 oz's I am going to use it on my Rem M7 6.5 Creedmoor build - i am aiming  for 5.5 lbs ready to shoot ! :p RJ

Rem 700 in .223, receiver trued, aftermarket bolt handle installed and timed, precision recoil lug, JC Custom Barrels 1-8 twist 22" stainless steel barrel, MDT LSS chassis, Tigger Tech trigger, Atlas bipod, 20MOA rail, and a 4-16 Viper PST until my ATACR 4-16 shows up, shoots easy 1/2 MOA with Hornady American Gunner.

Here's a couple............

Rem 700 factory barreled action lengthened to a 4" bolt throw and magazine and bedded into a Brown Precision fiberglass Sako stock, with Sako bottom metal and 6 port Magna Porting in 300 Wby with a Leupold 4-12X40 on it.........never weighed it but it's under 8 lbs.

This is my Ultra Light Mod 700 Ti in 300 WSM, PT&G firing pin and bolt shroud, Brown Precision Kevlar stock Leupold 3-9 compact. 5 lbs 15 oz with scope and sling.

This one ain't no light weight, 700 SS SA with 31" Kreiger heavy varmint barrel in 22-284 in a Remington 700 Laminated Varmint Thumbhole stock. It has PT&G speedlock kit and aluminum shroud and a 40X 2 oz trigger with a 30mm Leupold 6.5-20X40.

How do you find the recoil on the Ti in 300wsm under 6#?

I am contemplate an ultra light as well but concern for that kind of weight without a brake will be uncomfortable to shoot.

My "TT" serial 1st gen R700 ti. I didn't personally do a lot to customize this one, as the previous owner here on CGN already had it rebarreled to 338 Federal with a Pac-Nor, and Corlane did the splatter paint on the stock. I wanted it to look closer to factory again, so I sanded the stock down, refinished it and installed a new butt plate to replace the old one, which was worn and got further damaged by removal. There are certainly lighter scopes out there, but I really like having side focus, and the rifle still only weighs 6.x pounds with the relatively heavy NF.

Nice rifle !

Like NF scopes a lot. Wish they came out with a lighter/hunting option.

Limbsavers are great but they add what ... 3 pounds ? ... :p. Shocking how heavy some of those are.

Someday I'll find a 700 Ti in .308 and toss it in a Wildcat stock. .338 Fed is an interesting upgrade though.

I don't even notice it, but you are really asking the wrong guy......I regularly shoot 340 Wby, 375s, 378 Wby, 416 Rigby etc, etc, etc,. Some guys have shot it and said it was a little sharp, but I only shoot 150 gn TTSX from it so I really don't think it's bad at all. It doesn't have a recoil pad either as a weight saving feature, it's just a rubber skid plate supplied by Brown.........This rifle is intended to be carried 20 miles for every shot fired so I decided weight was of higher priority than recoil.

Compared to the stock one there is definitely some weight penalty, but it does it's job, so I can live with it.

I like the fresh paint. Looks like a very nice rig

Thanks! You'd laugh if I told you what the finish actually is. It took a while to find just the right texture. :d

I have several, but here is a couple of my Leeper - built 308 Norma Magnum.
Custom shop Curly Maple stock, McGowen 1-10" twist barrel, Now has a VX III
3.5-10 B&C on it. This rifle does shoot!! I have several groups, using the 180 TTSX and
IMR 7828 that measure around ½" at 200M Hard to argue with that. Has one moose
and one elk to it's credit so far. :) Dave.

Thanks for your reply!

I am no shy to recoil either shoot my 602 in 375 h&h, 12Ga A bolt slug on a regular basis but for some reason my T3 lite in 300wm hurts a bit at the bench and could be the recoil pad (hard rubber kind of painful to the shoulder) and your rifle is even lighter dressed so I am curious to know.

Thanks again and send more pics of your nice rifles:)

This rifle is a custom build on a 1975 Rem 700 short action in .308 Win.
Here's what's been done to it:

- 22" Benchmark barrel, 1:11 twist, 5R rifling, 5 grooves.
- Action trued, barrel chambered and installed by Guntech
- Trigger Tech trigger installed...(it's awesome!)
- B&C stock
- CeraCoat finish by ATRS
- Leupold VX-II 3-9x40 scope with Talley Lightweight mounts

It's not a lightweight, more like a "standard weight", but carries well and is a pleasure to shoot.

The rifle just shot this 3 shot group at 100 yards today during load development with 165g Hornady SST bullets and 44g of IMR 4895 at .010" off the lands. I'm looking forward to loading up some more rounds with this data and seeing if it'll repeat this level of accuracy.

Started life as a stainless sps 7mm rem mag, had the action trued, slabbed and bolt fluted, handle lightened it now has a 26" #4 hart barrel chambered in 257wby mag, bedded in a sendero take off hs precision, was built on a fairly low budget so not the fanciest but should do the job
