I have never noticed bumped up prices before sale price at Cabela's, but I sure have at Wholesale Sports.
Cabela's is just another retailer selling stuff. They have added multi-millions of dollars of sporting goods stock in Canada. Their presence has also pushed Wholesale Sports to do better, sometimes, maybe.
Some of us remember the good old days of take-it-or-leave-it retailing in Canada, with little stock and unpleasant attitude. The big box stores have stirred things up.
I still shop at the local Mom and Pop store where they offer hard to find stuff with service and a smile.
I would not be holding out hope for Bass Pro to add positively to the mix of sporting goods stores. Their policies in Canada have not been all that friendly to the consumer, and their clothing line is often substandard quality.
