Canik in Canada... is there a point?

Also, I used to run a M&P pro in USPSA and it was plenty accurate for competition and social work.

You do not have to pull the trigger on an M&P to disassemble it.

Yup. Sorry about that. Confused the take down with my S&W SD9 VE. Which you do have to press the trigger (very Glock like pistol). That being said, the tool to depress the sear pin is kind of weird for the M&P9. But yes, my mistake. No trigger press needed for the M&P9 take down.

Well here in Canada the Pro version runs you around $850. So about $200 more than the range kit. This puts you right into the Glock (currently over priced), Walther PPQ, Sig P350 and HK VP9 territory. Frankly it better be "plenty accurate for competition and social work". Just to put my thoughts on the accuracy into perspective. My long term loan S&W 5946 with it's 8.5-12 pound DAO trigger and my S&W SD9 VE are both more accurate than my M&P9. At least in my hands. The old clunker 5946 shouldn't be more accurate. Yet, it does group well. Seems the two stainless barrels have an accuracy advantage. In all reality, that is the only real negative I have with the M&P9. I don't even mind the trigger which is gritty at the start but works pretty well on mine. I love the way it handles, the build quality etc of the M&P9. But when I'm shooting at the range on my own dime, I like my pistols to be accurate. The PPQ for instance is the most accurate pistol of this type that I have shot. Puts a smile on my face every time.

Looks like the newest just released Canik TP9SF addresses the concerns/things I didn't like with the SA. De cocker buttons are gone, you can change out the back straps and it has a phosphate primary finish before the cerakote.

My 4906 was very accurate as well. 3rd gen Smiths are awesome.

I'm not saying the M&P is a target pistol, but it is plenty accurate for competition or self defense.

Not sure where you are getting the info about no back straps on the SA. Mine came with two....

the one I shot didn't come with any. Hence where my information was coming from. It was a buddy's though and I'm not sure if he bought it second hand. If it does come with them then good stuff.

Might be worth picking up the SA version if prices free fall once the SF hits shelves here. At US pricing the gun is a very good bargain.

Since you asked. They're currently going full on Shari law dictatorship. Jailing journalists, judges, etc who oppose their leader after a failed coup. They've gone from being a beacon of hope for democracy in the middle east to going down the path of being just another cesspool. Oh, and they're a NATO member who is buddying up with the Russians. The same Russians threatening to invade other NATO members.

You should cut back on watching liberal tv. You posted this propaganda on the same day the Russian ambassador was assassinated in Turkey. The killer used Canik TP9.

Aside from the killing, TP9 is a good gun.

Dam straight, LOVE MINE ! Money very well spent !

Because for $550 for the range kit it is an awesome deal on an excellent handgun, try one out, they are a really nice pistol. People have been, and will continue to buy Turkish products as long as they are available, decent quality at a good price :)

Yeah, I got a used (900 rds) 5" PPQ M2 with 3 mags and Meprolight Night Sights for $750. That's only $100 more than the Canik on the EE right now.

Even though our dollar is at 75 cents, a $350 pistol shouldn't be $550+

Yeah, this is my second PPQ... I am definitely a fan.

You forgot to add the ITAR, 200-500 per cent markup, cost for cap and trade, Trudeau contingency expense fund and since it is from Turkey the probable repair recall.

I'd take a G19 @C$899. any day of the week, or - if $899. was really too much to budget - an FNS9 with three magazines @C$525.

That's the best deal I have seen on an FNS9 in a while, well worth the money imho, I paid $499 for mine last year, but the price has risen on them, I see most priced from $699-799 these days. My buddy has the Canik, and we have compared them with each other, we both agree the Canik has a better trigger, but the build quality of the FN is much better than the Canik, both are very accurate, but I honestly like my FN way better than his Canik

I'm sure my brother bought one two years ago for about 450.00. Seems many people want to sell for full retail plus. I'm sure they are also offering full warranty plus return shipping. Not. I won't pay or ask more than 2/3 retail because the buyer is taking all the risk that comes with a second hand purchase.
