Your Colt Combat is a beautifull pistol, i would have bought it so fast if it was in 45 ACP, especially after shooting mine, the possibilities are stellar, i have nothing against the 38 Super just that i think any 1911 should be in 45 ACP but in the world of handguns i am a beginner so i could be dead wrong... JP.:)

I love the 1911 in 45acp but my first 1911 was actually a Delta Elite in 10mm and did I ever fall in love with that gun. As a result I've never been opposed to 1911's in other calibers like 9mm, 10mm, 38 super and 38 midrange. The only reason I'm selling the Colt Special Combat Government is because I have 2 of them.

- a 1911, I suggest the SR1911 (all 1911 should be .45acp)
- CZ Shadow (9mm)
- Beretta 92fs (9mm)
- Uberti conversion "Man with no name", .38 Revolver, NICE piece to have :)
- Ruger Mark III bull barrell, .22, all black
- Glock 17 or 19 (9mm) if you want a polymere gun
- S&W 686p (7 rounds) revolver, .357 magnum

1. CZ Shadow ( if I only could have one handgun this would be it)
2. 1911 45 ACP ( STI Lawman is my choice)
3. S&W wheel gun able to shoot 357 mag
4. 22 either Luger style or wheel gun
5. S&W 44 mag wheel gun
6. 45 LC single action wheel gun

Everyone should have a Glock 17. They aren't even my favourite but they are extremely reliable, simple to use, reasonably priced, and last forever. Plus new shooters always want to know if you have a Glock.

Why should you own a Glock 17 just to make other shooters happy?

You should buy what YOU like, and what YOU want, not what others want you to own.

When you come right down to it, there is no real reason why you should choose a polymer pistol over a metal-framed one, or an autoloader over a revolver.

You are not ever going to carry it on your person for self-defense. You will shoot it for fun, only.

The weight factor is completely meaningless, which means that polymer is unnecessary.

So buy whatever you like, and choose whatever type of shooting that you like.

If you really want to jump into action shooting, go for it.

If you just want to punch targets and plink, then do that.

If you want to do serious target competition shooting, then do that.

All of these choices are valid and they will dictate your choice of pistols.

I would not say that they last forever...and would never have one because of newbie shooters :p) , reasonably priced... really ?

oh well, it seems that I need a Glock , should I ?! ;p)

I like the C&B revolvers the most. The two iconic ones I have just acquired are replicas of the Colt Walker and the Lemat Revolver. Each is a lot of firepower in one hand. My regular goto toys for CAS are replica Colt 1860 Army's, both C&B and the RM Conversions. I also have a PPQ M1 just to stay current. and keep my Tavor company.

Come on! No Dan Wesson fans? Brilliant concept, tastefully executed, and damned accurate.

What?!? Can't take away my Dan's! Simply love the vent rib and full under lug, all three are extremely accurate.

So do you have anything to add related to the thread or just here for the usual anti-polymer gun rhetoric?

Glock in 9mm (G19 gen 3.5 is my personal choice)

1911 in .45 (although I actually got rid of my 1911s when I bought my HK45)

a big-ass revolver (.357 or something more powerful - I went with a S&W 460V)

a .22 auto, preferably a Ruger (I rarely shoot .22 anymore, but am kind of thinking about getting one of the new Ruger MkIVs)

As you must be very well aware, I did add something to this post.

Next time, simply read the actual content of the post before accusing me of heresy for violating "The Gospel of Glock".

Glock fanboys are such such sensitive little snowflakes. ovrec

You didn't make a single on topic suggestion, nor did I say anything about "The Gospel of Glock". Unlike you, I do read posts. Didn't realize I was a Glock "fanboy" though. Thanks for informing me.

Nice list.
What constitutes a Gen 3.5 if you're so inclined? I'm not that up on my Glock folklore.

All my polymer taste are satified with this G19 gen 4... All the rest of my herd is steel steel and steel... JP.
