Quintessential Handguns

I am the one who should be ashame, i bought a brand new 92 SS 6 months ago and it's still unfired tucked down in the safe... JP.

JP!!! How could you!?!?

I am also going to admit something else... after all my Walther fanboyism... If if a see a Glock 34 at the right price at the right time... it's mine!! I have always loved the look of them, and longslides are just cool. I miss my 17L

There you go ChromeArty! A true open minded GNut. Make sure you put on a RMR on the 34.
I'm toying with that idea the older I get except I would put one on a G19.

If you have a chance, shoot a G19 Gen4 with a LW 106mm barrel, a couple of member here tried my pistol and were very impressed... PS: All my Glocks were sold after my first outing with my G19... JP.

Thanks lads! Appreciate the love!

I had a Gen 3 Glock 19. They are a perfect size... too bad about the barrel crap in Canada. Would love a baby Glock one day! Even with the barrel sticking way out.

You mean a 19 like this one?
Posing with my 22.

The 19 is a bit worn due to its age. And this is the groups it makes at 5yds doing the drill.

A custom barrel will solve that problem.

Quintessential handguns, hmmmmm.

1911A1 - any decent quality 1911 in .45ACP with enhancements like Novak sight and beavertail/ring hammer, will do for me.

357./.38 Spl revolver - preferably SW 686 or Ruger GP100

9mm semi - Glock 17/19 if you like modern plastic, or Sig 226 for alloy frame or Browning High Power for all steel, material does not matter as long as you got a hi-cap niner.

.22LR - naaahh, but if you insist, then any SW 17/617 that appeals to you.

The beauty of that Gen 2 G19 almost makes me weep. And with a proper barrel! There may be a single man tear coming out of my eye right now. OP, I will add a Glock 19 to my list as well, actually. If you own an old school Sig, and a Glock 19, you are pretty well set for auto loaders. :nest:

In saying that I've owned 3 different 19's, and sold all of them to fund other purchases. I'm a bit of a dummy that way. I'm likely going to buy another one.

Operating under the assumption of 9mm, .45 and a wheel gun:

Glock G17 for first time, general all purpose pistol.
Ruger GP100 (4.2") if you must have a wheel gun
USP .45 if one wants a Gucci pistol that will actually work (unlike 1911's or SIG's)

Even my Norinco 1911 never missed a beat. Not one failure whatsoever, I also had an STI that was excellent .... but I am curious, what 1911 did you have reliability issues with?
