I'm running 120gr of Blackhorn 209 and a 240gr Hornady bullet.
If you look at the Load Data for BlackHorn 209 it states 120 VOLUMETRIC UNITS, not grains!
For a 240 grain projectile the MAX load of BlackHorn 209 is actually 84grains! OR 120 volumetric units...
See here: http://www.blackhorn209.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/b209muzzleloaderdata.pdf
Be careful folks, BE CAREFUL!!!
Cheers
Jay
Well, whatever 120 is in my t/c powder measure. Happy now?

I have been using 777 and 300 gr harnady sst out of my CVA wolf with good results.
Chisholm what are you running for a muzzleloader?
It's a safety issue chisholm & that's why I pointed out your mistake. Rather than being snarky, a polite comment by you noting your mistake would have been more appropriate.
I'll leave it at that.

Jay
My apologies, I was having a long day when I made that comment and I was a bit pissy without my coffee! I realize you were raising a possible safety concern and I took it as a guy trying to nitpick or be a know it all.

... I think the whole issue boils down to neither of us wanting a guy to mistakenly load their muzzle loader with the wrong amount of powder!
And I think we would both agree that the Black...powder is AWESOME!![]()

Never had an issue with triple sevens and 209 primers...... in fact, a couple of years ago I was forced to remove the primer and leave Bp in my safe and it fired out of the gate six months later......
