Time for a new 9mm, opinions wanted.

If you are looking at the Q5, then get it. I sold my PPQ navy and wound up with an M2 5" the same week. Once you go Walther, I don't think ya go back!

I just noticed IrunGuns has PPQ mags yesterday.

Buy The Walther!

X2. Have the Walther PPQ M2 5". Love it! It's everything and more that's said about it! Super accurate and trigger is a dream. But if I were buying today would likely get the Q5 Match.

I use mine for 3 Gun and will also likely use it in CQB this year. As another poster commented above if you intend to use it in IPSC, 5 lb. first trigger pull in Production could be an issue down the road in any of the larger L2 or L3 matches where they test trigger pull weights. Mine started out above 5 lbs. but after lots of rounds down the pipe is now registering just a hair under 5 lbs.

If you want something that will work in IPSC Production and 3 Gun I'd go with the CZ Shadow 2 or take another look at the SP01 Shadow. Both are a lot of gun for the money!

I just got back from thr range testig out my PPQ 5" for the first time... wow. It definitely makes me look like a better shooter than i am. We have a line up of 8" steel plates at 10 yards and i was able to knock em down almost as fast as i could pull the trigger (prtty good for me, but that's not the best part), then sporadically i would transition to the 4" plate at 25 yards and snap a shot off as quickly as possible hittig it about half the time! If i focused and took my time id pop it every time.

I have shot a:

PPQ navy
Sti spartan 9mm
Sti trojan 45acp
Glock 19, 17, 17L
M&P9
Ruger SR9
Cz 75, Cz 75 shadow

And more im sure on the same range, doing the same thing. Some have been close, but none as fast. I was able to hit the pepper poppers at 25 yards 3-4 times before they went down as well. I really like the 5" ppq!

Your mileage may vary, but I feel like my game improved today!

In the same boat as you guys, Have quite a few different handguns, and my newest gen P99 AS is my absolute favorite, Trigger is a dream, the reset is great, and it makes putting rounds on target easy, In 3 gun and top pistol matches this year its definitely going to be my go to, with maybe a little revolver thrown in, Might pick up a m2 but Iam a sucker for the euro mag release, My ultimate would be buy a m1 Navy and M2 and swap the slides out. One can dream right?

Dan Wesson Discretion in 9mm. High on my want list at the moment.

Are the frames all modular? I never had my navy and 5" at the same time or i woukd have checked!

If so, do it! You could sell the M2 Navy you created for a loss of around $50 or so.

I've decided to go with the PPQ Q5 Match. Thanks for everyone's input. I seem to alternate between steel and polymer for each handgun purchase so I'll just get the 1911 next.

I've tried a Glock and as much as i want to like it, it doesn't fit my hands. Got a chance to handle a Walther PPX today and it fits me very well. Hopefully the PPQ won't be much different. I won't be able to try one before buying though as I have to buy online.

Thanks for everyone's input. My new Q5 Match has arrived and it is awesome. I have a variety of ammo ready to go for testing. Now the agonizing wait for the registration certificate.

I wasn't aware they did a optics ready frame for the p-320...going to have to get one now...I'm loving the sig...

Me too! They are suppose to arrive this summer and will go for around $!,200. MSRP which isn;t bad considering you get a $400US Optic with it. The gun should do well in IDPA Optic Division and USPSA if you play down there or here for that matter.

To the OP drop me a PM and let me know when you will be down at the range, I would love to see the new blaster.

Take Care

Bob
