there must be something that Wolverine can do. Like slapping on beaver barf and taking off the inscription and then resubmitting them to the RCMP. And selling the wood as kits. I am sure all the guns would sell. Just a suggestion. I don't know of the legal ramifications.

Like before, a political solution is the economical route. Court is expensive and there is no guarantee of the outcome.
The reality is, the Police have government funding and time and they know it. They can seize the shipment when it
lands and you could never get it back. This makes the loss real or you can sell it somewhere else and still loose.
Been there, and it isn't fun. On surplus there is some room to add court costs. New stuff, price is fixed, everyone will only pay
so much or buy something else. Reality of the business, everyone wants a deal.

Let's hope this is just an isolated retaliation by the RCMP, and nothing more comes of it.

I, on the other hand actually hope that something MORE comes of this, mainly that we all get together and back Wolverine in a well-presented challenge to this ludicrous action taken by the holier-than-thou bureaucrats obviously giving direction to the Department of the Red Serge. If, as suggested, it is isolated retaliation by them simply because some engraving rubbed their noses the wrong way, then I hope that is shown to be exactly what it is,... namely an infantile, pretzel-logic response by what can only be assumed to be politically-motivated government appointees with absolutely no basis in true public safety or physical functional fact.
I would respect Wolverine's decision to call it a day for now if they are fed up, and maybe "live to fight another day" so to speak, BUT, I am keeping my Wolverine order active as long as they are wiling to fight this, and will aid in any legal defense to this. We are in the right here, and the 'authorities' have nothing but a nose out of joint and a warped definition of public safety to base their recent prohib decision on. If their so-called logic was based on engravings making the rifle unique then they have woefully little precedence to base this on, since they have allowed countless tens of thousands, maybe millions of special custom factory-engraved rifles, shotguns and pistols to have been marketed and sold over many decades past with no separate FRT distinguishing any of them. This is a joke, and should be brought to public light to show this travesty and waste of taxpayers' dollars, when they should be employing their resources to do something of actual value in reducing true crime, instead of dogmatically harassing safe, law-abiding gun shop dealers and gun owners with prohib orders based on cosmetic trivialities.

In the same way that the Auditor General a few years ago showed what an utter waste the long gun registry was in the amount of a couple billion dollars wasted for no actual tangible safety benefit, this recent waste of our time and tax dollars should be highlighted to show how they've dreamed up yet another way to fritter away Canadians' money by concentrating their efforts at petty retaliation and illogical prohib orders that have no effect on safety whatsoever.
We should get a freedom of information inquiry into this. I too would like to see the departmental communications exchanges. If they're so correct and sure of themselves, then they should be accountable for all this decision making, right? I'd also like to know how much government salaries were spent in devotion to the wasted bureaucratic direction and lab research work to declare that some simple engravings have somehow magically transformed a previously unrestricted rifle apparently into a menacing full-auto-capable weapon. I have nothing but respect for the rank and file feet on the ground officers who protect our nation, and I honestly thought this CZ 858 special edition question was eventually going to be resolved with a logical decision based on physical, functional fact, not cheap political agenda. I am truly ashamed that this is the way our national police force lab is currently employed and given misguided direction from above to pursue such wasteful tasks.

I changed the stock and handguard of my CZ858. Apparently that makes it a new gun. Should I contact the RCMP and request a new FRT? Come to think of it... I've changed the furniture on most of my guns. OMG AM I A CRIMINAL NOW?!?!?

Idiots.

I've used a gun oil not mentioned in the owner's manual to lube my unrestricted rifles and some pistols with. Are they all now prohib? Just checking.

Never ends..interesting to see how this unfolds. Hopefully, in our favour.....what I find a bit curious is the statement under ACTION on the FRT Form..."no longer capable of automatic fire". Total contradiction and it really adds to the smell factor.

I love this post

Well didn't I warn everyone 6 months ago?

No, you made a bunch of vague posts and predictions, none of which came to fruition.. You were also called out by others, and forced to make a "redemption" post to try to clear your name, and bad posts..

Can I use this for my letter to my MP?
with a few adjustments of course

WTF
So.. Semi auto. Good to go!

It's the "Molon Labe" furniture obviously! The phrase may fly in the USA, but I'm guessing it don't in Canada "if they have anything to do with it"
My suggestion if all else fails...claim the furniture!

This seems quite clear, the receivers are built from the same formally auto receivers as last time this hit the fan. I wonder if Wolverine specifically asked for "from the ground up" semi-auto only parts. If so, and I suspect they did, then CZ screwed up the order.

Wait wait... I didn't sift through the pages of this thread but... The CZ858's here, in question, are prohibited because of .... engravings? Like.... Could it not just be argued that they are exactly the same as the ones that are already in the country, simply with different furniture? Mechanically, the same rifle, which is already non-res.
