Hi guys,
what's your thoughts/experiences on using one-piece AR style QD mount on a bolt action? I just got into bolt action and got a ruger american predator in .308 WIN with 1:10 twist, heavy than regular barrel(not heavy barrel though). So, technically with the proper optics, matching handload and enough practice, it should reach beyond 600 yards with great accuracy. So, my thoughts right now is to use those one-piece QD mount with 2 scopes on this rifle, one low power(2-10x) for hunting/short range, one high power(6-24x) for getting a taste on longer range precision shooting before I commit to it.
ADM not only makes the ones for AR flat top, they also have one specifically for bolt action. So, I am wondering anyone has any experience using this type of the mounts on your bolt action. Other than the benefits I already know and why I am looking at it, what might be the cons that I missed due to lack of field experience.
Any thoughts would appreciated! Thanks!
