The "What Have You Reloaded Today" thread

I'm kinda with sheep I reload a ton of ammo on a single stage press, thought about a progressive but the single stage keeps me busy.. And I'm cheap.. Lol

I hammered out over a thousand rounds of .223 over a week and a half during my free time last month -- keeps you busy during those frigid/snow storm days :)

At any rate, all I did today was test 8mm loads for the Gewehr 98.

Loaded 500 rounds of 9mm on my 650.

I'm trying out the "lead free" primers from Fiocchi in virgin Lapua brass. I tried a couple of test rounds last week and the inside of the brass, after firing, looks almost clean.

However, I'm using 4.1gr of VV N340 with a Berry's 147gr FP so that powder tends to burn fairly clean.

I noted the shape of the FP is different from the conventional 147gr RN so the bullet had to be seated slightly deeper to pass the "plunk" test. These measure an OAL of 1.045".

For about the last two years, I haven't done much in the way of shooting, reloading and especially hunting. This was primarily because of a cataract issue and there are a few of my most recent acquisitions that haven't seen any use to speak of. Had surgery recently, on both eyes and what a difference :d:d !! Anyway, getting back in the game, I've started on some reloads for testing my 375 Chatfield Taylor :d .

I just hit the like button for you, X-100.

Thanks guy.:) I appreciate that. On another note, I 'may' have mentioned this in past, but back a couple of years ago, I had a successful Antelope hunt in Alberta. It was sort of a retirement gift hunt with my Daughter and Son In Law. Even with my eyes then, I could tell the sight was headed south but I 'had' to make use of this rare opportunity as they don't come often. Anyway, the three of us did well. The reason I mention this is my Antelope looks like a twin to the one in your avatar.

This is mine.

Mine is ;) the 'cute' one in the middle.

As it hangs in my den, my Daughter did the European mount for me.

Made some .260 Rem cases from some 1x fired .243 brass a few days ago for a project that Guntech is working on for me...then hit the Calgary gun show Saturday and snagged 100 pcs of new Lapua .260 brass for $90!! Score!

Some 6.5x55 in nice cleaned up 1F Norma brass with 140gr HPBT.
Some 7x64 using 1F 280Rem brass to form, seated with some 175gr Deepcurl, looks like its going to be a good combination.
And cleaning up some more Hirtenberger 7.62x51...about 90% of the cases have corrosion barnicals on them, huge disappointment with the case of this crap. Only way to remove it is chucked in a drill with a Lee shell holder and use progressively finer wool. Ammo shoots like #### as the run-out it brutal. Brass at least is boxer but way too much work cleaning it up.
