sks letter series

pringles... I'll do you a favour...

buy this one. $300 and sell yours for $250.
For an extra $50, you get:
Comes with the tactical stock and a new Williams rear sight
Comes with the original (and nice!) laminate stock and rear sight
The metal is arsenal parkerized, which is a preferred finish for a working gun
And, you don't have to do anything else.
Tasteful bubba job complete (except I would rattle can black the handguard).

Yes^^^

Your receiver cover looks to be original bluing, all in all it's really nice! Don't sacrifice it, save it (or sell it if you have to) and buy an already bubba'd one off the EE like The Kurgan has suggested!

i have all the stuff to bubba one up, just came in the mail with the SKS ill just order another SKS no harm lol
no one likes to sell guns... I've sold one and miss it
I sold a 59/66 and kickin my a$$ every day for that, i sold my neighbor a 54 izzy for what i paid for it, $175. He loves it, at the same time he bOught a berretta ( I think) .223 non restricted and says the izzy shoots better!

I got 4 izzies and a lightly ref 52 Tula for $150 +tax last year when a local CTC stopped selling SKS and put them on clearance, they even let me pick through them,, kicking myself for not buying more! The izzies were refurb and had parkerized metal, very tight though, I guess that's part of the reason it is accurate!

That's ridiculous. I'm definitely a little jealous.

If you have non matching numbers and EP anywhere on the outside of the gun but the gas tube, it's a refurb. Also, look for a stamped square with a diagonal line or diamond with a "T" in the middle of it. Either of those indicate refurb as well.

They did electro pencil the butt plates for a while on the non refurb ones as well. I had a couple non refurbished letter guns that had the serial on the buttplate. And what about the rear sight leaf. That is normal to be electropenciled.

A lot of non refurbs have non matching mags as they screwed up or just didnt care when they took the sks apart to put the mark of putin on them!

yeah EP on the underside of the rear sight
i decided before i put the rifle in the back of the gun cabinet i was going to clean it.
found something thats making me wonder about the SKS after I removed, the gas assembly.
on the top of the barrel infront of the rear sight

my dog jumped off the couch past the sks and my wife yells "WALLY(our dog) YOU ALMOST STABBED YOURSELF WITH THE GUN SWORD"

Do what ever you want, it's yours be your own man and decide for your self and not take advice from a bunch of anonymous keyboard jockeys. Just remember they made millions of these rifles it's not a collector item. Cut the sh!t out of it and make it your own.

I'm okay with getting another one, i gotta go to wolverine friday anyway. i can appreciate that they made millions, but in the same breath can see that if the price goes up for more desirable ones, and someone is willing to pay id rather have one that i can unload for a profit, or just have a factory SKS its a nice looking rifle

Well there ya go! Thanks for correcting me guys!! I've done a fair amount of reading and missed the EP serials on butt plates. Also didn't know about mismatched mags on non-refurbs. Have handled about 150 or more and have never seen either on non-refurbs.

ok, I'm at a loss now, i was thinking the way this conversation was going that it was a non refurb.
in that case it was my logic to hold on to it
either way, is it the consensus that its nice enough to hold onto as is? or
just another SKS
