Not so sure Crazy Farmer, as Grizzlies were rendered extinct in most populated areas of this province. Grizzlies are too bold for their own good, and think they own everything as for their entire evolution until the last century, they have. The lower mainland, all of the Cariboo, this whole province was Grizzly territory a blink ago. While they still thrive and can be sustainably hunted in most unpopulated areas of BC, if large scale shooting of Grizzlies without the present controls was introduced we'd look like the lower 48 in no time. A hundred years ago the grizzly ranged right from the artic to way into Mexico, frontier mentalities and "putting fear into them" changed that fast. I hunt them but it's like the salmon fishery, a precious and delicate resource that needs respect and good management. I have more of an interest than most in seeing continued strong Grizzly populations admittedly.
