On another note, I used to think the P320 was ugly; I mean uglier than Glock ugly. All these pictures you guys are putting up are slowly converting me.
It's funny, in black they're still very vanilla to me, but in FDE. Yeah, I like that very much.

I agree. The full size version with the RMR looks better as the sight breaks up the lines. Otherwise, the black one looks like any other polymer pistol..with even less curves.
I've held but not shot the full size gun. It is a surprisingly big pistol for a 9mm. I think the Carry or Compact would look more appealing, even with the Canadian barrel.
I actually shot a full size over the summer and shot it well. I agree though, it feels like your holding a 1911 Gov. Make no mistake, I like the 1911 just a weird feeling when you have a polymer gun that handles that big. Funny story I handled that same gun on Friday and it has the same grindy noise that a new Glock does. I was able to fix it up though![]()
What is this grindy noise from a Glock you speak of? Mine are so old that I can't remember any noise! And what was the cause of the noise in the 320?
How does the 320 compare to your Glock in 9mm form?
I too don't understand the grinding he's talking about? I think next to the walther trigger, It's the next best trigger out of the box for a striker fire pistol. But it's very close.
What I can say is I own a G17 and full size P320. Both in 9mm. I have big hands. The Glock fits good. But but the grip is squared off. Like a 2x4 as they say. The P320 just feels natural in the hand. More contoured. It's more top heavy in the front compared to the Glock. But that can be good to compensate for muzzle flip.
Many first time P320 shooters are amazed how accurate they are with this pistol.
You know your going to have to get one don't you...I know your holding out...I decided I'm keeping mine for sure...would love to try one with the optic though...and I might pick up an fde frame too...I actually prefer the grip of the sig to the Glock...and I love the fact that it carry the same super clean lines...simple is best...imho

If ever you go and handle a Glock at a store when you rack the slide you'll hear this almost grinding, squeak noise. When I got my RTF2 it was absolutely horrendous. Anyways a drop of oil on the rod of the recoil spring and it's now whisper quiet. When I was looking at my boss' sons P320 same noise. I said "Hey, let me help you out with that"
I was actually talking to his son yesterday and he said "Hey, thanks for fixing my gun!" When I asked if his dad told him or he noticed he responded "I was using it and noticed it was really quiet and asked my dad if he had someone look at it when he got the sights changed because it's so nice and quiet now."
So the one piece capture recoil guide spring/rod comes un-lubed new? And the squeek/ grind is the rubbing?
I've never noticed as I spray a tiny bit of G96 everytime I clean my gun after a shoot.
The squeak has no effect on the performance of the pistol.
It's obnoxious when you're doing drills at home. That's a good enough reason to address it. A brand new gun shouldn't sound like nails down a chalkboard, and it takes 2 seconds to address because of how easy the gun is to service.
I am however kind of curious how you can declare that unnecessary friction can't at all impede performance. If it rubs everytime the gun fires it will most certainly cause wear over time, that won't be as readily apparent in one that's quiet.
The modular design is so genius.
