The best headlight/flashlight you've owned.

I have a Nex Torch programmable. One AA battery per year at most or recharge by USB if you choose but a regular battery works great. More than enough light and the ability to program different light levels through three switch settings. I have had this light for 4 years and it spent 3 months submerged under a foot of water at the bottom of my nephews well pit and came out unscathed and operating. I have used this thing hard and it still keeps ticking

I use a Fenix with a red LED and a white LED. I don't remember the model. I use it for a lot of stuff. The red rouses the cows a lot less at night than the white does. The white on bright will light up about 300 yards. The red on bright about 100 yards. Maybe a bit more.

Fenix hl60r headlamp. 18650 battery, crazy bright with all sorts of settings down to red, and the nice thing is charges from USB port so no need to pull battery to charge. I almost never use a regular hand held flashlight anymore unless I'm digging under the gun bench for a wayward spring(!). Big enough to know it's on your head, but even at -30 I've never managed to run the battery down past level 2 brightness (as the bat goes down it just auto ramps to a lower power level). And unlike most of my other headlamps, the f*****g elastic doesn't stretch out of shape after wearing it on my rat hat. I've got several petzyls that would fit a moose nicely... kinda like underwear with the elastic gone. Pisses me off just thinking about it!!!

Well crap, I should have read the manual (RTFM!). It gets better, you can use two cr123a lithiums in the hl60r instead of the rechargeable! Bonus in a stuck in the bush situation...

FWIW, I've had my Petzl Tikka + on my head since Tuesday when the power went out. Rural NB likely won't see power restored until Saturday. So I can vouch for it.

I have a Nitestick headlamp at work, not impressed, heavy and the straps break easy, on my third one in two years. My flashlight is a Pelican 2410 LED. It is awesome, I had one before but destroyed it after it got sucked into the tank of a hydrovac truck, I heard it hit the side of the tank. The lens blew off and filled it with potash. It still kind of worked but not anything like my new one. They are tough and light, plus bright yellow so you don't lose them. I like the thumb switch, no fancy modes.

My wife is using this BORUIT light. It lights up the area like a friggin landing light.
She's getting cataracts, and has trouble seeing well in the dark, but not with this thing.
It's bulky and heavier than most other headlights though.

I think I'm going to order this one. Is it pretty user friendly? I bought a fenix 18650 light that is micro USB rechargeable and a headlight to match would be nice. Would be nice to have one charger for phone, hand held light and head light. Plus I could really put my goal zero battery bank to work.

I have a Petzle (spelling?) head lamp that I love, multiple energizer ones I consider expendable, and then my EDC Pen light which is a Four Sevens Preon P2, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it.

Yes, worth the coin in my opinion. I've got likely two dozen or better headlamps from old school with the remote(warm) AA packs to new led's, this sucker is my goto light. Not to mention so many flashlights I can usually find one when I need it, unlike a 12mm wrench, of which I probably have a dozen as well! None of which I can currently find. Argh!

Didn't you know that you're supposed to buy a case of each of 12mm, 13mm, 9/16", and 3/4" wrenches, and that'll still not be enough????
