Rimfire goals 2017?

As I noted in a previous post, I'm anticipating having a lot of time beginning later this year as I'm planning on retiring. I have a more specific goal now. I'm going to do my best to see if there is a difference in accuracy from the bench between a 1913 and a 1907 at 50 and 100 yards.

I hope to scope and shoot my Custom Cooper .17 HMR that has been sitting in the safe, unfired since my daughter was born ( she is almost 6 now)

I remember that rifle...Lilja barrel with gorgeous wood and lots of engraving? It was the rifle that motivated me to order my own Cooper HMR! 17 months and waiting so far.

Sounds like an excuse to spend all day at the range ;) Do you have a plan as to how you're going to conduct your testing? Many variables to address.

YIKES!!!! You know, "golf" is a 4 letter word Bull's-Eye! lol I know lots of avid shooters, and even more avid golfers. However, I've never met a guy who dry-docked such a nice rifle and went golfing instead..for several years! :)

Reminds me of that quote; "A golf course is the willful and deliberate misuse of a perfectly good rifle range." :)

I wish it were some where dry. Having it stored in a dark, cold gun case under the bed at the none-winterized cottage in Saskatchewan.............just joking. That thing is in a tempature controlled room with full time armed guards on duty.

Yes you're probably going to have to shoot them back to back to eliminate weather , fatigue variables .Sounds like fun.

Sorry to here of your travel distance situation, SP. I am 20 minutes to either POCO range and DVC. This is my second year with DVC and in spite of proximity, still manage to go only once or twice a month at best.

I have resisted moving to other cities because I am at least close to the range and my RC flying field.

For me, I definitely have to make the time, or it aint gonna happen.

Have you thought of moving closer?

I had my license and rifles for 4 years before I finally took them out because of the GVRD range situation. I've been going to the Langley range since. Indoor like DVC, but out to 25 meters. Still closer than Abby.

My biggest goal this year is to get my CZ452 Lux with BRNO match sights into a new stock. The Lux stock is just not conducive to shooting with the target sights given the comb drop so I am looking at getting a Boyds with adjustable comb. Was going to go Klinsky but the fellow who sold them out of the USA is no longer in business. Then following that I want some more 5 round magazines which seem to be hens teeth to find sometimes and expensive.

You might all question my judgement but my rimfire goal just finished. I built a AR 15 in 22lr and man it's fun to shoot. My levers, bolts and other semi are now lonely.
