How much vension do you eat?

One deer is way too much for me to consume - so I usually set my uncle up (crossbow) making sure he can hit the BLOC at 25 yards - the deer he gets gets shared among three or four of us - none gets wasted and I can feel good about it

We eat wild meat/ fish about three times a week. Mostly deer, turkey, walleye and grouse. When we are over in Africa for part of the year it goes up to about five times a week with lamb and beef being the exception meals.

If the past season has provided sufficiently, we eat NO beef whatsoever. We raised 5 kids on game, and they still prefer it to other red meats.
Last fall was a bit leaner, but we are still eating game on a regular basis.
Elk is first on the "desirability" list, with moose, deer and black bear in that order. Certain sausages are the bonus. Dave.

Me too! Some wild boar/feral pig would be great.

All of our ground meat for last couple years has been venison. So between that and the choice cuts, some sausages, grouse and some duck, we eat wild 2 sometimes 3 days a week.

Would love to make it seven days a week but last year i didn't get out much and we'll be going domestic soon, till hopefully spring bear tops us up

We rarely buy meat from the store, If we do its chicken or turkey or beef steaks in the summer for company. Otherwise we eat deer, moose, and fish throughout the week, with the exception of a family dinner on Sunday at the inlaws and maybe a Friday or Saturday night out.

So Its wild game (including sport caught fish) 5 days a week, lunch and supper.

1/2 a moose, 2 deer and 50lbs of fish is my grocery list for the year. Any extra or left over is sausage or jerky to snack on.

Basically the bc liberals suck fat moose balls, and if they had their way the only people allowed to hunt would be rich foreigners who can fork out $20 000 to go moose hunting...

Im pretty new to hunting, so i don't get to eat as much as some. I think im up to 5 deer suppers so far this year, and I've still got a roast in the freezer. Not bad for not getting my own deer this year.

Called the "Americanization" of sport hunting here in Canada for profit. People should have the right to make a living but at what expense? Last fall I had permission to hunt ducks on a field by the landowner. Believe it or not I had to suckhole to an outfitter service to hunt this private land as the owner said "generally he doesn't charge local guys". Researched the guide service and it wasn't even owned by a Canadian...

...oh and to the original post, we eat wild meat weekly.

Yes.

Enough that my wife is begging for mercy. We eat it once a week, but that usually mean two or three meals; the primary meal, as leftovers the next day and possibly the remnants in a lunch.

We'll alternate with bear or duck for relief.

I've had many dry years, but I got two deer in 2015 and still have some left, plus half a deer from a join hunt in 2016 and a big box of moose from 2015 as well.

Sometimes we even buy sausages. Our local butcher makes farmed elk and buffalo sausages, and when they are a day or two old in the display, freezes them in packs of two and sells them for $1.00. They are great to eat and cheap. Fresh they cost about $7.00 a pair.

If bulk pork is on sale we buy a chunk now and again and cut it up and freeze. Even buy frozen turkey wings now and again.

We genarally don't buy any red meat only game just buy chicken and some pork we generally have 2 elk usually last year we had 3 this year 2 elk 1moose 1 mile deer

Usually a few deer, and an elk every year. Raise my own pork/chicken/turkey for variety.

I haven't purchased red meat in a couple decades.
