I've thought of doing it with a beat up .22 so I can shoot .22 shot shells at Swallows in the hangar. The rifled barrel just throws the #12 shot everywhere EXCEPT where you're aiming.
Be careful with those .22 shot shells brother. I know a guy who put some through steel roofing in a garage.
the trick would be finding someone to thread it for chokes...
and why would you convert as opposed to just shooting shot through it?
at least that way you still have a rifled barrel, lead wont hurt it very much, and if you are worried about that just use poacher slugs
Ever tried it? The rifling spins the shot cup violently and makes the shot fling out with centrifugal force to pattern nearly 10 times bigger than a smooth bore. Worse yet, none of the shot goes in the middle where you're aiming. It makes a big giant donut pattern. (Instead of a Timbit)
Those 22 shotshells are useless in a rifled bore. Coupled with the fact that they use #12 shot or something the like...
Sell the rifled barrel and buy a smooth bore? If the rifled barrel is removable they generally fetch a premium. What shotgun?
