Bought my first Buck Mark URX w the contour 5.5 barrel.
A few years ago, after I got my Sig P226, I then set my sights on a 22 cal lr. I wanted a Buck Mark in the worst way. At the time, no one on CGN had one in minty condition that I wanted...so I settled for a Ruger mkii that was in nice shape. Bought it from a fellow CGN'r from out in Alberta. Great pistol btw....but it wasn't a Browning
But, in the back of my mind, I soooooo wanted to find a Buck Mark. So I decide to shelf that idea for now, since the brand new Contour URX or other high end Buck Marks here in Ontario, start at $ 649 plus trudope's 13 % pound of flesh.
Then came this weekend....it happened !!
Decided to stroll through Cabelas here in Kanata, since I was in the market for a good pair of range boots....wth, I'll go see what hand guns they have in stock....
And DAAAAYYYYYYM there it was in one of the glassed in cubicles.....a gorgeous minty Buck Mark 5.5 Contour URX, COMPLETE with the gun (of course)
2 mags, gun bag, manual, and ......waaaait forrrrr it....
and last but not least, a waaaay cool Browning reflex with 4 different t sights, and seven brightness factors !!!!.....all for an unbelievable price of $499, + tx ...the gun was soooo in minty cond. I could've used it for a breath mint loooool. I knew at that moment, it was meant for me...and I had to have it.
My dad knew I wanted it real bad, so he gave me 1/2 the $ for it...just "a little something for my son" he says...what a great father he is. He DID say however, that he wants many range trips this summer so he can poke some holes in the targets. He also fell in love it as soon as he saw it in the store. He wanted to come with me when I returned, so he could see it in person. I told the lady behind the counter, to put it on hold and I'd be back
I k ow it was a long story, but one worth sharing with you CGN'rs

I hope to have my father me for a long time to come, so we can make more memories with our Buck Mark Contour.
............now I have to wait for the CFO to complete the paperwork
, then I can take my baby home !
