Are we in an SKS price bubble?

Bubble or not, there's sure been a #### load of them, of all types, on EE lately LOL.

Some folks are selling as the price lately has risen so they are taking some profit, nothing wrong with that,, some are selling due to the RCMP and governments threats and actions lately and worried that the SKS is on the list of firearms to attack! Not saying that will happen, there are so many SKS out there that it will be difficult but the went after the 10-22 mags so I guess anything is possible!

Thank 's to everyone , I ordered one from Lefebvre's , from the picture of the crate they look good , mine will be birch stock and all blue steel no BBQ .

One thing I have noticed by calling sellers , most new SKS arrivals come in cardboard boxes not crates , also already pretty much cleaned ??

Just guessing that there is someone sorting out the Super grades ( the good ones ) from the crates and selling them at a higher price than the basic mismatched , BBQ painted ones ,, just a guess ........

I guess the old days of sorting through a freshly opened crate of SKS's still dripping with cosmoline are gone . so sad I missed getting all greased up looking for that special one .

Even just a couple years ago they were all sold by the importer at one price. Now they are graded and priced differently first by the importer(perhaps one exception) then in turn, by the retailer. Of course, the same goes for laminate vs birch.

Great, I find the ones that are cleaned have more rust on some of them I think they wash them in varsol or equal and do not protect them with anything after marking them with the sign of the Russian demon. ( Molot Mark) maybe yours won't have those marks, I thought they said in grease, but must have been cleaned, make sure you strip clean and oil it sooner as you get it, oh yea, post pics! Congrats on the purchase!

We just managed to locate a few crates of excellent SKSs, still in the original Cosmoline! They are greasy, but #s matching, most are unfired & unissued! Have a look, while we still have some left, HERE.

Neither of those crate pics are "original" cosmoline. They've clearly been rebathed recently after the mags (in the Hical ones) got Frankenpinned for Canada. The crate immediately above are all refurbs, that I can see.

The ones in the lower pic are $219 at an undisclosed location :p , Westrifle is selling theirs for $280-$310 and there is of course Lever Arms selling theirs for $229 as well.

Not seing the problem, most of the sks i see have not been cosmoized and show some rust, i do believe most of those come throught North sylva. These one at Hical, have been protected,, great, the price is a bit high but if they have non refurb all matching, it aint bad!

Yea those were all black bolts but were going for $2000 a crate so works out to be $200 a rifle.

I picked this '55 up today for $220. It's a refurb but nicely done, all blued and matching if you don't count the ###X's and bore looks brand new. Something I'll sell down the road after prices "go up."
