Are we in an SKS price bubble?

Man, so many things I want to buy, and SKSs are not a bad investment as far as gun stuff goes, but one just doesn't have enough dough for everything, sigh.

I bought because I semi collect, but got a few more for extras and also small investment, 3/4 of my SKS have the Russian Molot export marks which are fairly discrete, however the un marks that are supposed to come, we have no idea what they will look like! Will they be similar to the grotesque TT33 marks? That for sure would destroy any collectibility in my opinion and although they would still be great shooters, they would be less desireable than pre u n marking! Same as the pre Russian export SKS are more desireable than the marked ones! So get them while you can! Ymmv.

Went to a gun store today , my first time there , SKS 219.99 ec .

All were in card board boxes , de greased , I looked at 10 , ,,, not one had any parts with the same serial number , the stocks were poor condition and had more X's than a Valentin's day card , and referb stamp on the receivers / bolt cover..

maybe they should list them as shooter's grade or something like ... bit's and pieces assembled .............

Guess I am spoiled picking them from a freshly open crate ,, before there was a THE Super Grade SKS was discovered and a different price for a Laminate than a hard wood stocks.........

It seems there is a batch of unissued Chinese SKS rifles arriving at some CT stores. I will be there to pick one up shortly after.

I just received one of Frontier's offerings. It's a mixmaster of serial numbers but it has a perfect bore and very few dings on the stock. Completely covered in preservative oil. I will shoot this one and stash the unissued one in the safe when it gets here.

By the way, Frontier is excellent to deal with if any of you are wondering.

do you know if these are the Military issued or civilian model ?

I saw a civilian model for $230.00 plus tax in new condition ............ thoughts /////////

Well I remember getting a M1 at lever arms for 149$ had someone offer me 1300$ last year. I should have bought a crate at that price.

With our devalued dollar and inflation your $149 is worth the same $1300. If you go to a car lot that pickup truck is close to $100,000 with taxes in. But still $149 does sound better.

My local CTC has them on order from North Sylva too, since, early Dec. he will be texting me when they show up, I will likely buy one if price is reasonable as I do not have an unissued Chinese SKS yet! Estimated price is just above $350.!

Ah yes, the Daytona 500 - the reason why every American believes the last line of their national anthem is "Gentlemen, start your engines!!!"

I found 6 sks's at my local gun store that were clearly refurbs (only the stocks refurb'd tho) they were trying to sell as non-refurbs with pretty rough stocks and blue'd for 275. shoulda bouight a damn crate of em from trade-ex when i bought my first one a few years back. decent units are getting hard to find retail these days.
