The only SKS id be interested in today is a Yugo M59/66.

There was an unfired M59/66A1 on EE for $1,250 I think. Another fired M59/66, if I remember right, for $800.

IRG was thinking about bringing yugos from US where they are around $400, and abandoned the idea as they would be more than $800 landed here.

Yea, $800 USD would be on the high side, hopefully some will show up, mine came from Marstar the as new in the Cosmo model! Price was reasonable, I think $675 all in with hard case and a tshirt!! 3 ish years ago!

That's when dollar was at par. That's about 900 CAD now.

I've heard that the Yugo SKS's do not have chrome-lined bores. That makes them, in all practical terms, non-shootable with corrosive ammo?

I agree 100% anything that can launch grenades is a plus and the non chrome barrel is on most early military rifles, clean it well and it will be fine chrome lined will make the bore last longer whether it is corrosive or not,, its just harder metal! Some folks say non chromed barrels are more accurate. Ut i havent seen any testing to prove that!
