Hi, I'm thinking of getting my first, what I'll call "baby" black rifle because I'm thinking of getting one in 22 caliber. I want a 22 so I can shoot it allot without spending a fortune on ammo, do anyone have any suggestions, maybe some of you have one in 22 that you really like, works well that you could suggest. Also a picture would be nice, if you could post one or two.

image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgi used to have the silver one(Nordic components and 1022) , but my kid found it to heavy.
Now I have the other one(1022 in a plastic kit), much lighter.

I had an SR-22 and they're fun, but heavy (for my 11 year old) and expensive.

I ended up buying a 10/22 and put it in a Knoxx Axiom stock so that;
- it's lighter
- it has adjustable LOP for my son and I

As it turns out, there's an Axiom for sale by another member in the EE right now.

Here's mine;

That's almost what I have in the above pic. I changed out the barrel,added a tacsol aluminum barrel. Huge difference. In both the above rifles.

I sold my SR-22 with the bull barrel I had put on it which is how I learned about match chambers which aren't good when an 11 year old is trying to unload a rifle. The original SR-22 barrel is what's on this one.

Ya,well that's only an opinion.

I should've guessed you wanted to start that debate.

Telling the OP to do something likely illegal, even if they were to get away with it if they fought it in court, is just irresponsible on your part.

I have no idea why people here thinks it's acceptable to give shady advice about non-compliance, assuming everyone else wants to fight their Molon Labe battle in a court of law.

OP, if you like the 1022 platform, the 2 I posted both have tacsol barrels. Really makes the fiddle very light and balances nicely .
The Nordic build cost me $850 ish.
The Axiom cost about $600.
The barrels drove the cost up quite a bit.
The Axiom is under 4 lbs, great for small kids.
