Feds want to increase the number of grizzly bears in the North Cascades ecosystem..

You forgot to mention that they brought a work ethic.

Go into a lot of places that "real Canadians" refuse to work and see who is doing the heavy lifting. These folks aren't flat on their asses. Local Syrian immigrant family in my town works their collective asses off. Want your walks shovelled? Car washed and detailed? Lawn mowed? Any other ####ty job that you can't be bothered with? Yup, they'll gladly do it. If you want to see a place with people who are "too good" for a lot of jobs, come to Nova Scotia. But you get people who know what it means to suffer and scrape by coming into this province and they'll double down on working hard at jobs that locals refuse to do. Good on 'em. We can use more people like that.

And we can use more grizzlies.

Nonsense...... it's just a matter of 6 degrees of separation.....

Grizzly bear > black bear > black dog > led zeppelin > immigrant song > immigrant......

Totally relative....

They didn't manage to destroy agriculture in the US and Canadian West before we wiped them out. I'm not that worried about it.

You should be worried. They are completely incompatible with agriculture. Only electric fences will keep them out.

I know a Horse logger up by Pink Mountain that has a hell of a time with Grizlys going after his horses but that is in thick bush Country can't see a farmer having the same problems in the Prairie with open fields

If I know the ranchers of Alberta and saskatchewan well, they would have no problem, shooting, shoveling and shutting up with a rogue bear.

Might want to consult the guys in southern Alberta on this.

Some ranchers have had as many as half a dozen show up at potential food sites. Take a deep hole to bury them. :)

electric fences are not working on humane on the long run they do not work with bears, they learn how to bypass them like humane ....

for the other comments fewer need to rethink how Canada was built .... when we arrived in Canada over a decade ago nobody was waiting for us and we worked our butt and honestly there is more new comers moving their butts than waiting to get money coming from the sky ... i do not know how many times i have heard i just have to raise my hands to get something (of course this is not true...).

lessons learnt do not trust CBC nor fox news ....

Kicking Horse Resort has a captive Grizzly in about a 20 acre enclosure, held in by an electric fence. He escaped twice, electric fences work on a pulsed basis and if the animal hits it between pulses, no jolt.

I'll take the blame for this hijack, took the bait. My wife is an elementary teacher and has Syrian kids now in her classes, not going to lie we were completely opposed to "letting them in"... then we met them and learned what they'd been through.

Back to grizzly bears in Regina and other meaningful matters. ;)

I'll take Grizzlies and Muslims in Regina for $200 Alex...
