Savage clip breaks

You got one of these to fit an Axis? No wonder it broke!

I think what you have there is a stripper clip. He is just talking about a regular clip.

My local LGS sells them for $60. No deal there.

Cabelas on line for $36 but none in stock, but I did manae to get one in Cabelas Moncton. I have a 783 coming in 243.

I swear I saw them for $29 somewhere recently....if I can remember where I'll post back. Hate when I can't remember #### lol.

Fairly common complaint on the Salvage axis clip..........Oh my god I said clip instead of mag, I hope my #### doesn't fall off.
Yes....yes it is. And the main reason it makes it a poor rifle for hunting.... I mean if someone is serious about hunting anyway.

How long will the next one last ?

And what do you do when that clip breaks off the mag when you are on a hunt hundreds of miles away from a dealer...well actually I've seen the duct tape fix but really, there are better guns for less money then an Axis these days.
And yes, I have one in 7-08 stinking up my safe I don't know what to do with. Probably consignment.

Is the accuracy that bad?

I have one in 25-05 tho it is the axis II xp . I didnt think i would ever buy one but boxing day at cabelas a few years ago they forced it on me. Reg. 499 (or thereabouts) on sale 359 with a $50 mail in rebate and a $50 cabelas gift card on top. The rebate ame in US $. About 250 for the gun. Thats about what canadian tire sells the weaver kaspa scope for. Ive used it deer hunting in upper michigan in some pretty frigid temps and never had an issue with the mag clip. I did use the gift card to buy a spare but havent had to use it yet.

I own a few other Axis's and this is the first in ever for me to break. No problem with accuracy. I'm not a fan of the synthetic stocks so down the line I will switch it out . For now it gets the job done .
