.375 group is officially open now.

I have a M70 stainless classic in a mcmillan with ptg one piece bottom metal. Very accurate but the 24" no. 5 barrel is a pig. Been planning to rebore and chop to a 416 rem, or maybe a 458 of some sort. Undecided. Or trade for something similar. Any ideas?

If you wanted to lose significant weight off that rifle, I'd have it bored to .475" and build a 475 Ackley on it.......cut to 21-22" and have a real handy heavy hitter. If that is too much cartridge for your needs, the 475-458 WM will out do the 458 by nearly 100 fps with 500 gnrs. An honest 2150-2200 fps at less pressure than the 458. With these kind of expansion ratio cartridges you will lose virtually nothing velocity wise by cutting back to 21 or 22"

A couple more 375h&hs
2x Sako fiberclass
Top one has a 24.5" barrel
Bottom one is 23"
Appear to be factory barrel lengths even though they're different

I sure like my 458 Lott. One of the nice things about the 458 Lott is that it can take 458 Win. Mag. ammo. Also there's a wide selection of 45 caliber bullets.

See how puny a 375 bullet looks next to the 45's? :p

Awesome sako there. Thanks for posting
Did it feed the Lott without mag, feed lip or ramp adjustment ?
Was it a 416 or 375 originally?

375 H&H in a Ruger #1 Tropical. Hardest kicking rifle I own, but very pretty and accurate. (tape on the stock below the checkering, no idea how that got there)

Hmmm, good to know the Mercury tube works. My daughter was shooting 265 grain cast at 2300 fps out of mine when she was 14. Always kinda wondered it that Mercury tube works...guess it does. Cool.

Edit; And not being a d*nk neither. I was somewhat disappointed when firing Factory 375 H & H through it ( it's a WM of course, but no-one can find or afford WM brass...fireform), like "That's it?" Now it makes sense. Merc Tube and Limbsaver = Pussycat.
Sorta makes me want to run across you and try an 'un-dycked with' one. Just to see what the Hoopla is about.

No Pics yet but I just pulled the pin on some parts to start a new .375. Building on a short action.

Remage action
Bell and Carlson M40 Stock (dark gray with black webbing)
Brux .375 12T 27"
LRMP Breech Plug
Trigger Tech Trigger
Nikon Prostaff 5 scope
Swinglock full forming die (made from piece of bbl)

I enjoyed going through this thread a few times and hope it continues. There is really something about this range of cartridges.

It makes me want to put in more and more honest range time with my .375 so I can eventually wield it like many here obviously can.

Some of these rifles are so nice they are almost hard to look at!
