We need to support Maxime Bernier

This is what I just got from Maxime Berniers crew, I don't believe anything till I see it
A+ on guns
MB

Maxime Bernier <info@maximebernier.com>

Jonathan, the Canadian Coalition for Firearm Rights has graded the gun policies of all the candidates.

I’m the only one who got an A+.

It’s because my policy is the biggest change in favour of gun owners.

And it’s something we can win on.

Double firearms license length from 5 to 10 years;
Repeal all magazine capacity restrictions;
Classify firearms on function, not appearance;
Make any classification changes go through Parliament, not the RCMP and cabinet;
Reimburse gun owners for loss of property from previous government gun grabs, and protect firearms owners in the future;
Make safety courses more available across the country, especially rural Canada.

With my firearms legislation, many popular guns like the AR-15 would become non-restricted, because gun legislation wouldn’t be based on fear anymore.

The Ruger 10/22 magazine issue would be gone.

A trip to the range will mean you get to practice shooting, not reloading.

If you want to vote in the Conservative Leadership race, the deadline to become a member is at the end of this month.

No, was charged for membership. Long story short, i was accused of belonging to a political party with rediculess "evidence". none of it sticked though. So im not ever joining a party.

It appears like some in tge MP branch are looking for excuses to pounce on "political cativity".

Are you sure about that?
You were likely charged for failure to submit a DND 2839 (which would fall under 129).

As per the Defence Ethic Program:
4. When and to whom am I required to submit a confidential report?

You are required to submit a Confidential Report (DND Form 2839E) to the COI Section, in any set of circumstances where you own a non exempt asset, practice of an outside activity or employment, or participate in political activities, regardless of your functions in the political organization and or its jurisdiction (band council, school board, municipal government, provincial or territorial legislatures or federal politics). This includes participation on election or re-election committees or being a volunteer for a political formation.

As per QR&O 19.44:
(7) No member of the Regular Force shall:

take an active part in the affairs of a political organization or party;
make a political speech to electors, or announce himself or allow himself to be announced as a candidate, or prospective candidate, for election to the Parliament of Canada or a provincial legislature; or
except with the permission of the Chief of the Defence Staff, accept an office in a municipal corporation or other local government body or allow himself to be nominated for election to such office.
(8) No officer or non-commissioned member shall organize or take part in a political meeting on a defence establishment.

(M)

NOTES

(A) Examples of meetings or speeches that might be considered to be political meetings or political speeches are those that are designed to:

solicit votes for a candidate in a federal, provincial or municipal election;
solicit funds to support a candidate in a federal, provincial or municipal election or a political party; or
organize a lobby to maintain or change public policy at the federal, provincial or municipal level.
(B) An example of a meeting or speech that might not be considered to be a political meeting or political speech is a meeting or speech that is designed to impart information but does not require or expect any specific solicited political action to follow as a result

Hope this helps

Cheers

Bernier is as close to Libertarian as any candidate we are EVER likely ever see in Canada, and his position on firearms is just icing on the cake.

I have some small problems with his position on marketing boards, because I don't want to follow the American example of instituting massive taxpayer funded subsidization to support farmers to preserve food independence. To maintain our security and independence we really need to be able to feed ourselves. For that reason, Europe and the US have massive subsidy programs that require hugely expensive government departments with all the associated costs that go with administering the subsidy - but Canada has a marketing board that does the same thing at a tiny fraction of the cost. It's not all bad.

I support Bernier but I hope that if he becomes PM this marketing board issue will be explored to it's full depth before any action is taken.

Is there a way to donate so that the "gun lobby" (that's us) can show our ability and willingness to financially support a favourable candidate? Can we encourage the firearms community that wants to donate to Mad Max's campaign to make a donation that ends $XX.68? For instance - instead of making a $50 donation, make it a $50.68 donation. It wouldn't hurt for Max to know how much support he gets from firearms owners. It could open some eyes.

If this is already a thing then excuse me - I didn't read all 300 plus posts.

Mad Max is the real deal!!! He will fight for our rights are law abiding gun owners.. I just signed up for a CPC membership just so I can vote for him
