Glock 17 Gen 4 vs Smith and Wesson M&P M2.0

This is very misleading. While the measurements are similar, the shape of the grip is not. The M&P has a much rounder profile, so if you measure the circumference of the grip, you will see the the M&P is smaller. 1/4" in the LOP is also fairly significant.

Exactly. Can't just look at the numbers because obviously the shape of the grips are different.

The double facepalm thing has always been a good substitute for facts, lol.

I know they "feel" different, I own both, but that doesn't mean one is better for smaller hands. As I previously mentioned, if hand size was a concern the Ruger 9E/SR9 would be a better choice than both the M&P and Glock.

The OP already stated hand size is not a concern so I guess this is all for not.

P.S. You shoot out of Galt right?

oh no, this is so tough, wich one should I buy. A pistol that has been in the market for more than 30 years and it has been a proven platform accepted by thousands of LEO, or a new gun that has less than 15 years in the market, and it is nothing but a over hyped piece of junk?
It is sooo sooo tough.

not that i dont like Glocks but is that really your argument?
the company hasnt done any innovation in 30 years and every other gun manufacturer has surpassed them and now they are starting to hemorrhage major contracts due to being stagnant.
also, being accepted by 'thousands of LEO's' is not really a argument.
your talking about government agencies that by and far pick the lowest costing items over the best pretty much 100% of the time.
if you doubt what i say let me assure you - after 20+ years of meddling in all the branches of police/fire/ems/military ive seen this first hand over and over and over and over.

OP: Make sure you actually shoot a Glock, M&P and Shadow before plunking down the dough. It's that easy.

What you buy depends on your priority. For some it is aesthetics, gun gonna be pretty. For other shooting is most important.

With your normal size hands should be no problem shooting any of them well. Be sure to dry fire to test the trigger and reset.
Also be sure to ask the owner if the pistol is factory or after market parts, tuning, etc...

I don't know what the problem is with pistol grips. Even with my medium sized skinny hands, I have no problem with the grips of any handgun I've ever held or shot. 1911s, Para high cap, 92F, Sig 220/6, Glock 17/19., FNS, Smith Wesson J, K, L, N frame, Ruger Blackhawk etc.

If you know how to grip a handgun, you know that most grips only touch your hand at the front strap and blackstrap, that is if you are gripping it right. Exceptions are hand filling grips of say, Olympic match pistols.

With all due respect...I have to wonder have many of the female persuasion would find a midth of an inch an issue with comfort and or performance....a comment from my wife...
