How much trimming from the factory needed for the forearm?

Drop in fit once I swapped out the triangular front ferrule with an A-2 round one.

I would if I could actually get the adapter to secure onto the saddle mount. Since it's designed for picatinny, the holes are all equidistant and of a certain height. The saddle mount on that 870 is weaver, not picatinny, so the holes don't line up and the screws don't fit through them anyway. You can actually see in the photo that the 870 is completely insecure in that mount.

One day though I'll get a proper pic rail on top of a shotgun and make a proper masterkey.

I really do like nice optics... to me, the gun's not worth much if I can't hit anything with it!! Probably 25% of the money I have sunk into this sport is glass.
