PAL Wait Time

Sent my application express post and says it was delivered feb 23 2017
March 16 still nothing online is this normal?
 
First time PAL + RPAL

Jan 28/29th - Completed CFSC+CRFSC
Feb 15th - Received passed reports
Feb 16th - Mailed Dual application with reports and payment via CP Express Post
Feb 20th - Shows Received at RCMP PO Box
March 16th - Still not listed online and no info when i call in as to if it is even in the building.
March 20th - Showed up online (completed initial processing, is now in progress) Had first Reference call in for interview.
March 23rd - Shows online as application complete # issued. Now waiting to receive card in the mail.WOOOOHOOO

They received my application on Dec 28th, called in on mid Jan, was told I just gotta wait and there's no my application in their system.
Checked online again around Feb 24th, then I called in and was told have "one" of my references called them.
(R)PAL showed approved online few days after one of my references' interview was done.

As soon as it's on the website call and get for your ref to call in.
 
Today my PAL application just showed up on my Visa and online.
Here's the status of my application so far:

February 20: mailed the application out Canada Post
February 27: application received
March 27: application showed up online as starting initial processing.
March 29: application has been approved and it's in the mail
March 30: application mailed out
April 5: I've received the PAL in the mail.

I'm going to call in today and see if they can move this along as my 28 day waiting period is up.

EDIT: I received the card today in the mail. It took 5 days for them to receive it, 4.5 weeks for them to process it and 5 days for them to mail it back.

I'm applying for non-restricted since I let my minors expire on my 18th birthday in 2007. I misplaced my course report in that time, when I called and asked about the "providing evidence" part, they confirmed the year I passed the course, I am on their record and to just jot down "On File" next to the check box. And including a copy of the course results wasn't necessary.
 
What's the average wait time for PAL approval once the application has been forwarded electronically to the provincial CFO from Mirimachi?
Feb.22 Pal application received in Mirimachi
Mar.21 application processed
Mar.27 Called regarding status of application, I was told that everything looked good on "their" end and my app. Has been transferred to B.C. For CFO approval.

Patiently waiting ;)
 
My application showed up online this Monday and today showed up as being processed and completed. After two days from being online to being processed is pretty good. I should have my card by the end of next week. :) I called on Monday and talked with them about the status of my application. I guess just phoning in and asking politely helped for me. My application was just for a PAL though and I didn't have my application go the CFO. Apparently, the lady I spoke with said that if it goes to the Alberta CFO it could be an extra 2-3 weeks to up to a couple of months longer for waiting.

So your application didn't show up online until a month after you mailed it? I mailed mine from Ontario via regular Canada post on March 8. I have been checking every day and still nothing. I was debating whether or not to call them to see if it was received but I guess it would be prudent to wait another week or so. I've applied for restricted. Hopefully I have it by May!

Yes, it only showed up this Monday online but they received it a month prior on February 27 . It seems like they receive the applications and process them in batches not when they receive them in the mail. My friend mailed his application in a week later then me and his application just showed up online a day ago. It doesn't hurt to call them but the lady said to me when I called and it wasn't online yet that they have no record of it being received.

I guess I'll just wait until I see the payment come off my credit card. It looks like I have a few more weeks to wait before I see any action. Thanks for the info!

I'm on day 253 since they have received my application. Multiple phone calls tell me the same thing every time.
"Keep waiting" they say. Also my application has been with an "individual CFO for final approval" for around 220 days. Like wtf
 
Heres my timeline for PAL + RPAL first time applying from BC:

FEB 12 Did courses and received results
FEB 16 Mailed completed application to Mirimachi NB
FEB 23 Says they received my application (but didn't actually come online until a month after MAR 23)
MAR 22 Money showed up deducted on VISA
MAR 29 Had my reference call in to give interview
APR 4 Says online they issued my licence and I should receive it the mail soon.

Waiting on the mail now, from what I've seen should take around 5 days to get to BC.
Total time from mailing the application to the license being issued ~ 7 weeks

SO PUMPED :cool:
 
as I sifted through chats,

no interviewing reference person(s) done for just PAL, at least one will be interviewed for RPAL ..

the common pattern is that an application appears online ~3 - 4 weeks after "arrived" (by CP)

then at least 3 days more and payment gets through

then another 3 - 5 days and NOW it's time to call as it's time for references' interviews ...
ask for the exact extension for your reference to call ...one reference' interview almost always enough, but it depends ..

approval can be given the same day as interview was done ..

the card will arrive most probably by the next week Friday (or Monday after)

I guess you need to talk to that "individual CFO" and get some clarity on reasons ... anything in your past? they are confused because of some false match? something to clear in the records?
