PAL Wait Time

March 6th - Application sent via xpress post.
April 6th - Application showed up online as in progress.
April 10th - Phoned in to make sure they had everything they needed. Was told to have a reference phone in to speed things up.
April 10th - Reference phoned in and gave interview.
April 10th - Called back to make sure they had everything they needed. They told me my picture was waiting to be scanned in and then the RPAL would be issued.
April 12th - Licence issued.

Hoping it will be in hand by the end of next week. I am going to send in my range membership to the SK CFO ahead of time to see if that will speed up my first transfer. some say it makes the transfer happen within a day or so rather than a week or so.

That's awesome!! Congrats! Hopefully the Ontario CFO will be that quick. If so then I should have an approved status by next week! Woo! The nice lady I talked to said it could take up to 3 months especially if it needs further investigation. I have no criminal, medical, or mental health history so all should be good!

Anyone send a cheque instead of CC info on the app? Does the minimum 10 day for bank clearance add to the normal 3-4 weeks wait to show up online, and do you see the cash withdrawn before anything shows up?

FINALLY!!!! I thought I would never see the day! After 385 days (267 business days) my PAL application has finally been processed and approved!!! For all those out there waiting an outrageous amount of time like I did, don't lose hope. Keep calling in every 2-4 weeks and inquire about your application. My application had been sitting at the BC CFO for months and I kept calling and calling and they just told me that they were super busy and back logged. Complete bs considering my father-in-law and another friend both applied in January and got their licences in March. Keep calling and keep getting on them and eventually your application will go through! Good luck everyone!

Did my course on exactly the same dates but mailed my application on Feb 15th. On day 49 I phoned them, they needed one reference to call in. Got it issued the same day and I received it in the mail April 18th. Applied for ATT on April 19th. Bought my first gun today, April 20th. Now waiting for ATT and stored to process order which should result in a gun transfer document I need to receive in the mail before I can pick it up.
