How do you know they received it did you call in? I'm thinking about calling. I mailed mine on March 8 and there is still nothing online.

see above ... most probably it will show online this or next week .. 3-5 weeks from "delivered" by CP .. CC charge will be probably 1-2 days earlier than cheque's clearing ..
no point to call until you know your application number ...

For mine, on march 23rd it came online and it says there that they received my application on feb 23. If you mailed on March 8th they probably got it like 5 days later, lets say march 13th they'll receive it so it should be online a month later, so April 13th. If its not up yet then you should call them. I think this is the 28 day policy where they don't start looking at it until the 28 days are up.

What's the average wait time for PAL approval once the application has been forwarded electronically to the provincial CFO from Mirimachi?

Mar.21 application processed
Mar.27 Called regarding status of application, I was told that everything looked good on "their" end and my app. Has been transferred to B.C. For CFO approval.
Patiently waiting
Sorry but if you still didn't get it yet, it will take another month or so....from my experience calling up every two weeks seems ti help things.

did the payment go through? posted? then yes ... if not, wait until it does ...
restricted? then call, answer their questions, suggest that one of your references could call (if needed) and ask for an extension for them to call ..
it could be approved a few minutes after your reference calls and answers their questions about you ..
Thank you! Yes the payment processed. It is an RPAL. I called and talked to them. They said my form was perfect and no more information was needed from me. They asked for one of my references to call in and that would be all they need. My reference will be calling tomorrow morning.

Sent my drivers license in and a week later it came in the mail no problems ! Sent my pal in for renewal threeweeks before ,nothing yet ?? Dont understand why it takes so much longer Expecially if nothing has changed Status wise!. They just drag it out because they can ...!
Initial process for my Pal (Not Rpal) application completed early May 2016. Moved provinces from Alberta to BC in August and contacted the CFO to have the file transferred. I have called monthly to have the same response that it is back-logged in BC and to be patient. Told me that I could always go hunting with a friend who has a valid Pal for the 2017 hunting season which makes me think my 11 month wait is going to be a lot longer. Had a reference call in today and she was told that if they wanted to call her they would have.
Well I talked to the RCMP firearms center again today. My reference called in and that is all done. They are in the process of attaching my photo to the file and sending it to the Ontario CFO for approval. They said it could take up to 3 months because it's busy. Hopefully not!! Does all of this sound right?

Ah. So it takes a while to show online. I mailed mine 2 weeks ago and when I try to see where it is it says they have no info on me on file. Im away from home for a while and only have internet once or twice a day. No outgoing phone system here.
I guess I should just keep waiting and checking daily to see when it is updated?
Correct. I mailed mine on March 9 first thing in the morning. They received it March 15. I had no idea until it showed online April 11. I know where you're coming from because I checked online every single day until it showed. Wait for another couple weeks and it will show up. That is the time to give them a call and see what they want you to do next. For me that was have a reference call. Good luck!

Coolio. Cheers. Unfortunetly, I do not have the ability to make outgoing calls for the next 2 months. Im away on work and there is no cell reception and we aren't allowed to call out on the phone provided. I can accept incoming calls.
EDIT: Forgot to add that they haven't seemed to take out payment yet, so I continue to play the waiting game.
Payment will come out the day it appears online. It shows under authorized transactions on my credit card but its not actually posted yet. What i can recommend is start checking the online site for it to show up. When it does get one of your references to call in and complete the interview. Good luck. I hope it all works out for you!

April 10th - Reference phoned in and gave interview.
April 10th - Called back to make sure they had everything they needed. They told me my picture was waiting to be scanned in and then the RPAL would be issued.
April 12th - Licence issued.
Hoping it will be in hand by the end of next week. I am going to send in my range membership to the SK CFO ahead of time to see if that will speed up my first transfer. some say it makes the transfer happen within a day or so rather than a week or so.
